> 3 dayMany sellers sell this very same item, and Ive seen small variations so there are also at least a few manufacturers. These work well and were the lowest price I could find at the time. The small cinch screws can take either a small Phillips or slotted screwdriver... Ive found that a slotted screwdriver works best as it gets a more secure grip on the screw head. I use these as temporary connections for testing light strips prior to and during installation. I am not a fan of clips and plug connectors for permanent installations because they can be intermittent and almost always fail eventually, causing you to go looking for the bad connection (however, after you find the bad connection its easy to fix). I prefer soldering all connections because that is problem-free and permanent. Some light strips come with a plug pre-installed so all you have to do is connect it to a power source to check out the light color and find any defective LEDs. If there is no plug, no problem - just temporarily install one of these plugs to do the testing. Same with power sources. To test amperage draw, simply build a simple test splice using a male and female and two short lengths of wire. Cut one of the wires in the center to connect in series to a multimeter set to test amps. Actually, even though I said I solder all connections, I do use a male/female connection between the power source and the light strips so I can easily insert my test splice to check voltage and amps in the future when needed. Everything I said applies to CCTV installations as well as LED light strips, or any other 12 VDC application.
