Added this fiber patch line to increase throughout and add redundancy to my server access in my network environment. Works great with my Ubiquiti SFP+ adapter to connect to my 10gbe switch.

Setting up a 10Gb backbone at the house can be a bit confusing, but the SFP+ and fiber cables from 10Gtek have made it easy. I started using fiber to isolate sections of my home net so that nearby lightning strikes would not take out more than one piece of equipment. The first shipment of this patch cable arrived with the ends crushed and parts missing. I filed a return through Amazon and received the second cable two days later. My cable works perfectly. I know I dont need mode 4 for a 10Gb run, but the 10Gtek mode 4 was about the same price as some other mode 3 cables so I went with the higher capability cable. Who knows, I might someday upgrade to higher speed switches and need a better cable. Update - The site image looked kind of pink and description said peach, and since I am pulling 2 100ft runs, I ordered the peach to make it easy to tell them apart. What I received was close to the common bluegreen that most OM4 cable is. Since I did not want to wait, I just broke out the red magic marker. Not happy about the color change.

It’s great to have a range of lengths to minimize the coils in the cabinets.

I am no expert so it took me a while but I think I finally got it down. All my connections work. Took these pics to help me. Maybe they will help you. Did need to buy a tool (jic-375) to at least strip outer blue jacket and inner nylon (yellow/white) insulation off the acetate coating around the glass fiber. The other tool this kit provided seemed adequate to remove the acetate coating.

Connectors seemed well made during install. Clip was a little tough to remove in order to reverse orientation for cross patch, but this is more of a feature than a bug. Clip did not break like older cheap options. Color matched and length was as advertised. Good for a commercial install. Would order again.

Works great between my UDMP and my 16 port POE Switch.
