Greater than one weekThis metal is not 15n20. It does not have any nickel in the metal and as everyone who works with Damascus the n in 15n20 stands for nickel without any nickel content it doesnt resist the acid when you etch it this is some kind of medium carbon or low carbon metal and the other problem is this metal is paper thin almost to thin for forge welding do not buy if you want high contrast Damascus made from this!

Greater than one weekmade a billet of damascus 72 layers and twisted. absolutely no contrast in layers. Tried and tried to get it to show up. Even tried hardening and etched again. Spent several hours and gas all wasted. Steel would only etch grey. Should have read more reviews. Scam, dont buy. I have made Many, many billets of damascus and have never failed to get a contrast when etching.
