> 24 hourI was so excited to try variegated thread! I got halfway through my design and suddenly had to rethread every few stitches because it was shredding. I changed my needle, cleaned my machine, and rethreaded multiple times, and I got the same results. Very disappointed.

> 24 hourI havent shopped around so I have no idea price-wise if this is a great deal or not, but I can say that it looks pretty slick when used. Ive tried it on my Brother Star Wars embroidering machine, as well as my Brother SE1900 combo embroidery / sewing machine. Both seemed to work with it without any major issue. Good selection of colors, and this really does make standard patterns pop.

> 24 hourNew brothread 12 Colors Variegated Polyester Embroidery Machine Thread Kit 500M (550Y) is a nice selection of colors. This thread works perfectly in my Brother PE770. I like to use variegated thread in part of a design or for a complete henna design. It’s difficult for me to judge how a variegated thread will look when it is on the spool so I usually embroider and label a sample of each color for quick and easy reference. One thing that I do not like is that the color code is a sticky label on top of the spool. If the label is not placed exactly, the thread can catch on it so I remove the entire label before using. I then write the color code on the spool with a permanent marker. New brothread 12 Colors Variegated Polyester Embroidery Machine Thread Kit 500M (550Y) works smoothly in my machine and the colors are attractive and colorfast.

> 24 hourI used the recommended embroidery needle and the thread still broke multiple times on one patch. I even ordered new needles just in case mine was worn or damaged and the thread still broke. You can use this thread on an embroidery machine. I had to throw away several patches . Save you money and spend the extra on quality name brand thread.

> 24 hourI have a variety of uses for variegated thread. I not only sew and embroider with it, but I also use it to ply homespun yarn with for a pop of color. Lets take a look. WHAT IS THIS SET LIKE? This set comes with 12 different colored spools of variegated thread. The colors in the listing are pretty accurate. HOW ARE THESE TO USE? To use these, as thread, they are nice. The thread is very nice, works well and did not jam in my machine as a top stitched thread. HOW ARE THE SPOOLS The problem is the spools. The thread falls off the spools once they are opened. There is no slit to put the thread in so you can not even secure the end. I lifted the sticker on the top, but that will only last so long. I intend to cut a slit on the bottom, but the thread still does try to fall off the spool if it is not pulled tight. SOLUTION? There are little nylon nets which are similar to the netting you get garlic, onions, or shallots in. Those are the size of thread spools and they can help over these spools, but they have to be small enough. THE BOTTOM LINE Although these are beautiful colors, they dont really stay on the spool. Whether using for plying with yarn or sewing, the thread starts to fall off the spool and get tangled easily. MY RATING THREE STARS. The thread is nice, just the spool is not. FIVE STARS for the thread itself. TWO STARS for the way it comes off the spool and did not come with spool covers at least.
