It is great kit for a beginner. It is good floss. I am using it to make bracelets.

I was looking to start a floss collection for embroidery, and ordered two kits to compare in real life. Pros and cons to each. I ended up returning this one in favor of the Athenas Elements one. this one contained much more standard colors that I would not have used. Both kits had the same boxes. This one was a bit better as it did NOT have a label. I also liked that this box had a pincushion strawberry...very useful, and the paper winding cards (I prefer those to plastic).

I was very impressed with this variety and quality of floss. It is exactly what I was looking for. I also appreciate the embroidery needles, tape measure, stick pins, scissors, and pin cushion. Its everything you need!

Did a burn test and the floss is plastic, most likely polyester. I wish I had figured out before buying that the floss probably isn’t 100% cotton. As for the included tools, they’re OK enough. The pin cushion didn’t look the most presentable and the thread snips look like they’ve been used already. You get what you pay for. If you don’t care and just want a variety of colors for cheap, then I think this will work just fine. But if you’re looking to stitch things that will last then it might be best to invest in higher quality thread on a project to project basis. For me, I guess these will be good to have on hand for when I don’t want to waste the expensive stuff.
