Especially in State Parks in my area, you cannot always find 50A service. And in reality, the only reason my RV is wired for 50A is that it is pre-wired for a second Air Conditioner (but not installed). So there is no reason why 30A cannot fulfill all of my needs. True, I may not be able to run the Air Conditioner, microwave, and make coffee on 30A, but with a little power management, I can make do. If I have 50A service available, Ill bring out the big cable, but when 30A is only available, I use this adapter. While I suppose it would be preferable to have 30A breakers on my RV, the shorepower pedestal (assuming it is 30A service) would still protect my RV with its 30A breakers. Having an assortment of dogbones and cables such as this is a necessary item for any RVer as at some point, you will need them.
