It took me several years to realize that most of the lint build up in my sewing room was actually coming from the bargain brand cotton thread I was using. Not until I saw the thread breaking down and experienced serial thread breakage, did I decide to try the Aurifil thread most quilt designers recommend using. Something that helped convince me, besides a dislike of daily bobbin case cleaning, was a serif photos of microscope views of various thread brands. Aurifil was the only thread without multiple loose thread barbs coming off of the main thread strand. Thinking about the costs to buy a new sewing machine due to preventable repair issues caused by cheap threads also helped convince me. Quality thread is an investment in the longevity of my sewing machine.

Colors are great, goes thru my machine like butter, sews very nicely for machine quilting
