3M 7000000484 Foam Polishing Pad - 8, 2000 Max RPM

My foam pad arrived with a slash in the back of one of the pads. Looked as if a box cutter cut through the plastic wrapper. It came apart on usage. The other was fine. Hence two stars.

This is a very soft foam a little less dense than the light blue ultra fine pads. It is absolutely necessary to achieve the perfection results the 3M perfect-it system provides. I have several other pads that just dont last, or are too firm almost hard. They also will burn up and become hard and abrasive in less than a year. This pad doesnt leave near the swirl marks the smooth pads do. The ones you might get from big box auto stores. Much less spatter from the 3M waffle pads, good release of dry material, doesnt imbed itself into this pad. Using the 3M perfect-it products with the 3M pads do achieve better more consistent results than the mothers or meguire pads. Some waxes break down the pad, not so with these so far. Worth every penny.

For me it was just ok

Used as finishing pad in conjunction with Meguiars Flagship and a dab of cleaner wax (after compounding with a 3m wool polishing pad, Meguiars 49 & a cleaner wax) this left a beautiful mirror finish on fiberglass. Recomnend watching YouTube or manufacturer videos on proper waxing techniques, product use, etc for best results. Waxing is an art and a science and poor results are generally user errors like too much product, too warm or cold a surface, tackling too large an area at once, not “cleaning” pads frequently (buy spur for wool, brush for foam), etc. For very large area I had 4 of these and 2 wool pads and washed out with Greased Lightning or Dawn and let dry a couple of days. Very durable. I used 5-8 hrs a day over several days and feel I could do the same at least once if not twice without replacing.

I am a professional Detailer and use these often. High quality 3M, never fails. This purchase was fast and easy and no issues.
