Product is as expected. 2nd order was packaged as to contain small set screw if it became dislodged. Bravo!

I say, I hope they hold because if one comes off, it is going to do me some trouble, whereas I am running 4 wheels on a shaft for hauling my stuff around on a hand truck pulled by my bicycle. Hey, it keeps me humble, but it works. I will definitely use thread grip to assure they stay on. With these I do not have to drill the rod. I still might drill them just a little to make sure they stay in place. With the image; forgive my mess, but I got real sick right when this little project got started, and everything just sat, and got worse as I am just now returning to the land of the living after quite a time of being down, while talking to God, and considering my last days here on earth. We all gotta make an exist inevitably, and dying slowly is the preferred way for me, giving me time to pray, reflect, console, etc, until my last sweet breath. Into thy hands I commend my spirit. Probably a good prayer to pray every day. God rest your souls. Walk with God, and get right with him while you still have life, and breath.

The ones I got were smaller than 5/8, by 1/32-1/16. Luckily I had a 5/8 drill bit and a drill press with a vise. I was able to bore them out so I could use them, but if youre not that lucky, beware, these are smaller than 5/8. I used a micrometer on the axle shaft i was using, and it came out exactly 5/8 and these would barely get on the ends. It took me 20 minutes to try and get the first one back off. The 5/8 drill bit shaved off quite a bit of metal to get them to work.

Set Screw-Style Bore Shaft Collars for Improved Holding Power

Set screw-style bore shaft collars are more advantageous, especially when used on shafts, pipings, or tubings that are of softer materials than that of the bore shaft collar. The low axial load support and even simple position adjustments will now fall to the set screw. The set screw itself is a socket cup-point set screw that directly secures the bore shaft collar to the shaft. A 4mm hex key is necessary to tighten the set screws.

Another advantage of these sets crew-style bore shaft collars is that it has high weldability since is made of solid carbon steel with zinc plating.
