> 3 dayI was a bit anxious about getting a third party charger for my Nintendo DS Lite that I purchased shortly after it was released. I did a little research about the charger and learned that input DC was 5.2V, which is incredibly close to the 5V that’s supported by the USB power spec. I own several high quality USB chargers and thought I’d try this cable considering it can charge several other devices that I don’t currently own but will likely purchased used as I expand my retro gaming library of devices. Because my USB charger takes care of providing the power, I really only required the cable to get the power to my DS Lite. The cable is very well constructed. The proprietary plug used by Nintendo for the DS Lite fit the port on the DS Lite perfectly. The plug fits easily into the port when connected. I didn’t have to force it in as it appears identical to images of plugs I’ve seen online. The moment I plugged the cable into the DS Lite, I saw the orange indicator light illuminate to much relief. I don’t think I’ve charged my DS Lite in over 6 years and was very pleased to see the DS Lite respond. It charged in a few hours and the battery appears to have plenty of life left despite its age. The same cable also supports charging several other Nintendo devices that I don’t yet own but have no doubt will work similarly. The cable appears very well made and includes a strong cable joint where the five separate proprietary plugs join into the single USB Type A plug. I’d be surprised if this cable didn’t last at least 10 years if taken decent care of. There are countless tiny little USB chargers one could use with this and being able to leave a bunch of proprietary chargers at home when traveling is a real plus beyond just replacing lost or just plain old Nintendo chargers. I couldn’t be happier with this simple solution to charging my Nintendo DS Lite.
