> 3 dayThis is so hard to rate because theres such a wide range of projectors out there. This one kind of fills a less-populated middle ground. Ive had the opportunity to test a few different projectors in the last year, and I used two projectors as my primary TV 10 years ago. So, Im not an expert, but not a noob either. There are a WHOLE BUNCH of low-cost $50-$150 projectors to hit the market in the last year. They are fun, but little more than toys. They may have resolution, but if you cant have consistent focus across the screen, resolution doesnt mean much, They also all make OUTRAGEOUS claims of their brightness. You have to be very careful about comparing Lux and Lumens, and even if you know the difference, I dont think theres any legitimate, standardized way to report them. All brand-name projectors seem to use a consistent, reliable scale, and all of the non-brand-names exaggerate or outright deceive. Currently, theres an Amazon coupon on this projector that makes it just over two-hundred. Thats in the upper range of the toy projectors. At that price, I can EASILY recommend this projector over its rivals. This projector looks nice, has some great features (Blutooth speaker connectivity, casting, NATIVE HD). It does a good job of digitally keystoning images that are not perfectly square - something budget projectors often dont do well. It does NOT have optical zoom so you have to be careful where you place it if youre going to permanently install it. It does not hold perfect focus across the whole frame, but its real close - better than the other budget projectors I tested. The resolution is very good. The brightness is good when compared to the toys but poor when compared to the more expensive brand name , non-LED, projectors. I thought it was decently bright until I did a side-by-side comparison. This project claims 8500 lumens using LEDs. My main projector, an Epson Cinema 2100 with a traditional lamp, is rated at 2500 lux. The Epson is EASILY FOUR TIMES brighter than this one. There is currently no such thing as an inexpensive LED projector that can compare to brand name lamp-based projector - its just about how much you want to spend and where youre going to use it. I also assumed that the LED projector would be quieter and cooler than the lamp-based projector, but in reality, theyre about the same on both counts... noticeable but not distracting, and fairly warm fan output. My home theater is set-up for a 120 screen. This is no problem for the Epson, but 120 is pushing it for this one... the light falls off too much (brightness is inverse square of distance). The image is much better if set to 80 or less. At 75 it almost gives the Epson a run for its money. In other words, this is right in the middle. Its twice as good as the projectors that cost half as much, but only half as good as my projector that costs twice as much. My Epson can present a decent image in a subdued, but still fairly well-lit room. To get a good image with this one, you really need a darkened room. (Also, keep in mind if it never occurred to you... when it comes to image contrast, a projector cant subtract light from your screen... so the very darkest part of your image is only as dark as your screen naturally looks in the lighting of your room.) So, Ill leave you with that vague summary - for a projector in the sub-$300 category, its hard to beat this one, but if you can afford twice the price, you can get a LOT more projection power. Compared to the other budget projectors, this gets 5-stars. Compared to the big boys, it gets 2. Based on value, its somewhere in the middle of the two. NOTE ON PHOTOS: Neither photo really does justice to the image quality of either projector - its hard to take a phone photo of a projection screen - but they DO demonstrate the relative difference in brightness between the 2500 Lux Epson and the 8500 Lumen no-name. The two projectors are both showing the same image on the same screen (half on, half off to accommodate both). I hope this helps!

> 3 dayI had been looking for a projector to use for movie nights. I was drawn to this one by the reasonable price. This is a great quality projector. Setup was surprisingly easy. I like that this projector is compatible with a variety of devices. I mainly use my phone or laptop with this projector and it works just great. I also have a Bluetooth speaker attached to it, and the sound quality is amazing. The image quality produced by this projector is surprisingly great for the price. I have not had any issues with blurry or laggy images. This projector has made our family movie nights much more exciting and suitable for larger crowds. I highly recommend checking this projector out!
