    The bars I got are either not 1084 steel or there is poor quality control on the alloying elements because it would not harden at the ideal 1500 degrees. I had to heat closer to 1600-1700 to get it to harden properly.

    Every peice was slightly warped and twisted Im not sure how to fix this and my knife is going to look funny but its OK steel

    Much more forgiving on the heart treat. Better for us beginners than 1095.
