  • Its me

I have used other hole saws, and as far as cheap ones go, this is actually quite nice, worked very well, though the shank is quite large, just barely fits the chuck in my drill. Would have been a bit more convenient if it had used a 1/4 shank, then I could have used my standard extensions, which would have been nice, but its not a huge deal.

Cut well through siding to install new light and cut well through 2x4 to install electrical box. Is a true 4 inches unlike another product that advertised 4 inches but was actually metric and a few millimeters shy of 4 inches, made for a real problem when you tried to install a 4 inch duct.

This hole saw made installing a few dozen 4” recessed ceiling lights a breeze. I also used it to punch a hole for 4” round junction boxes. Those were done through 1/2” drywall. At first the holes were a little jagged because the drywall crumbled but I think that was my fault being cautious and taking it slow. When I went full-speed beast mode it punched through clean and precise. My husband used it on a 4” duct for the dryer vent going through 3/4” Zipboard exterior sheathing - clean hole, perfection. No complaints here!

So far I have bored through heavy plastic (installing vents in a double panel plastic shed) and light wood. Not sure how they would handle metal or thicker wood but as i said this is a great set for the price. Handy when you need it. I recommend if the workload isnt too excessive.

Very solid assembly. The Mandrel is solid - but do consider that you need 1/2 chuck, I luckily had several drills around but my first try was on a smaller 3/8 and it didnt fit but thats on me. The hole saw is solid. It does come with a wrench and spare center drills - very helpful. Dimensions wise the manufacturer is on the money - good 4 hole and with the teeth alignment as-is the final product is just a tad over 4 which is exactly as it is supposed to be for 4 conduits. Great product. Thank you

As most will tell you, with tools the old adage that you get what you pay for holds very true. I only needed to cut a few holes with it, and it did so more than adequately. For my needs it beats paying over twice as much for a better quality unit.

Hole saw is well made and cuts nicely, but is too shallow to be of any real use when trying to bore through 5/8 or more plywood. If it was just another 1/2 inch deep it would be a fantastic tool, but as it is it will end up in my box of unused but cant bring myself to throw away tools.

:
Abuff 4 inches Hole Saw for metal sheet, drywall, plastic pipe, wood, PVC, fiberboard, grommet Hole, recessed light and can light hole Drilling.
Variable depth gullets provide more efficient chip clearance; 4/6 variable pitch teeth for reduced noise and improved performance.
Electron beam weld for stronger, longer lasting teeth.

From the Manufacturer:
The 38mm depth of 4" Bi-Metal Hole Saw is crafted from the highest quality bi-metal. The teeth are attached to a carbon steel body by a process called electron beam welding.
The result is a tool composed of two types of metal welded edge-to-edge - also know as bi-metal construction.
Because the Hole Saws are engineered and manufactured for exceptional sharpness and durability, they will cut much more than wood.
These saws will also cut holes in aluminum, copper, iron, stainless steel and zinc. The hole saws also have a tooth "pitch" that varies from 4 to 6 teeth per inch.
This reduces harmonics and improves performance. Also, the variation in depth of gullets between the blade"s teeth provides more efficient chip clearance, giving you greater cutting speed.
