> 3 daySeller sent me the VG271 model, not the VG271U model. VG271 model only has a max resolution of 1920x1080p, which is what I want to upgrade FROM. Extremely disappointed. Return in process.

> 3 dayI ordered the 1440p model. When I connected it in windows it defaults to 4K. Refresh rate is 29hz. When I choose 1440p refresh rate is 59hz. When I tried 1080p refresh rate was 60hz. I bought this to game in and am switching from an ASUS 1080p 144hz 1ms monitor. This monitor makes me nauseous with its low refresh. I am using an HDMI cable for the moment until the display port cable is delivered. That may be my problem. ****UPDATED**** After much tinkering in windows and the monitor, I was able to make it all work so much better. The dp cable is great too. It’s got a fast response and great color now. Not going to say certain fast paced FPS are totally clear when flicking around, but pretty much acceptable and the rest of the benefits outweigh. My old asus monitor wasn’t much better but is blown away in every other department. Movies are much nicer to watch on this by far. Gaming is better in 99% of games. I’ve put many hours on this monitor now and can recommend. - other people talk about flicker, I haven’t seen any. UPDATE ********** three months later and the flicker has appeared. It like a strobe like and is nauseating. Move on to the exit monitor unless you are ok with spending money on a piece of trash.

21-11-2024Great monitor for price. Has 4K for consoles and videos and 2k and 1080p with high refresh rates for pc gaming. Stand is a bit weak and I got a blue one which doesn’t match the desk I ordered but it’s whatever since I’m probably going to replace it with a better stand. Will update this review if anything changes after a month or two

> 3 dayThe quality is good except for a glaring defect. Theres a large oval shaped discoloration in the screen that I didnt notice at first because you cant see it in webpages with white backgrounds, but as soon as you watch a movie thats dark in color or most video games, its hard to not look at.

> 3 dayThis monitor has stopped functioning recently, and now I am in the market for a new one. I bought this monitor in June 2019, and it is currently January 2023. That means it has lasted almost exactly 3.5 years. I was watching YouTube yesterday, and all of a sudden, a vertical stripe of my monitor became deepfried (appears to have very low color depth). Its in the center of the monitor, goes from top to bottom, and the region effected is approximately 400 pixels wide. I am disappointed because this is an expensive product, and I have older monitors that I still use regularly and still work fine. My second monitor is a BenQ XL2411 which has been working perfectly since I bought it in 2016. I have another Dell monitor that I no longer use because it is so old that it only has VGA and DVI inputs, but it also still functions perfectly. I got that one in 2012. Overall, the experience of using this monitor was great, but its definitely of lower quality than its competitors. It appears to be selling for $299 at the time of writing this, but personally, I probably wouldnt pay more than $150. I am baffled that its selling for that much when there are cheaper and better alternatives. In summary, this monitor was okay while it lasted, but it is on the lower end of the quality spectrum, and I am disappointed that it has failed after only 3.5 years. I cant rate this product more than 3 stars, and if I had to describe it in one word, I would say, mediocre.

Greater than one weekI feel like some people just like to complain... I dont know. I have ZERO issues with the monitor, using the provided HDMI cable or a DisplayPort cable of my own. No flickering, no 8-bit color, no artifacts, no issues. I run it at 144hz on 1440p and its gold. There is only one issue, and its nit-picking so I didnt drop it a star or anything, but the screen has a black bar around the entire monitor. The bezel is non-existent, but it may as well have had a half inch bezel for the black dead screen that surrounds the whole thing. Again, its nit-picky, but I thought something was wrong with my GPU settings and I was trying to figure out why over scan wasnt solving the issue. Last thing, the speakers on this are bad, and thats by even crappy monitor speaker standards. Theyll get you through, if you just need some temporarily, but youd be better off with some $15 amazon basics laptop speakers than the ones on this monitor. Not a deal breaker, but worth bringing up.

Greater than one weekI got this back in November of 2020 and by February I noticed it was flickering every now and then and suddenly a giant line was in the middle of the screen one day. It was unfixable from my end and so I called support and they gave me the chance to send it back for a repair. While this seems reasonable I would have to be without my monitor for 2 weeks to get it fixed, and so I requested just to get a replacement and send the other back instead since I did not pay so much for a broken or repaired monitor to begin with. They refused, of course, and as the law states, I must allow them the chance to fix it and waste my time. Ill live with it, but this was a bad awakening at how annoying some customer service situations can be.

20-11-2024(UPDATE DEC 2021) The pixel ghosting I mention below actually has to do with inverse ghosting, better known as overshoot. This was happening because I had Overdrive turned on to Extreme. Turning it down to Normal allowed the overshoot to eliminate almost entirely, but, you will notice a little bit of blurring while playing something. Its honestly fine, and may actually resolve itself at higher refresh rates. The problems I was having were pretty much related to Skyrim and playing it at 60Hz on this monitor. (UPDATE NOV 2021): After installing Windows 11 I decided to finally give some time to figure out how to properly set up HDR on this monitor. Im glad I did. Setting the monitor to HDR 400 (it has an Auto setting I didnt find quite as good) and messing with some color settings in Nvidia Control Panel game me an amazing experience that Im glad I took the time to get. Whites are actually white (at least in games), light sources pop, and theres just better depth to everything. Im so glad I took the time finally to do this. Still going to leave it at 4-Stars though because no matter how you cut it, this is not a top-tier monitor and still has some pixel ghosting issues when playing games where there are a lot of bright colors on screen at the same time. _____________________________________________________ (Original Review) First, Id like to say that Im using a 10-series Nvidia GPU. Changing around the refresh rate and color was done in Nvidia Control Panel, and monitor settings were obviously done on the monitor itself. That said, Im mostly happy with this monitor, and I think you will as well. Youll just need to know a few things before buying it to get the most from it: 1. Dont forget to use a DisplayPort or HDMI 2 cable. A regular HDMI cable is restricted to a 60Hz signal, so you wont get 144 unless you use the right cable. I only say this because in almost every instance where someone Ive spoken to claimed there was almost no difference between 60 and 144, it was because they used a regular HDMI cable, sticking themselves to 60Hz even if their PC was running at a high FPS. 2. If you are gaming, be sure to put the monitor on Action mode, and be sure the Over Drive is set to EXTREME, with Ultra-Low Latency to ON in the Gaming section of the monitors menu. 2. You will not get 10bit color unless you put the monitors refresh rate to 120Hz. However, doing this caused a pixel response time change, making it somewhat unenjoyable to play games because of pretty bad pixel ghosting when moving quickly, especially if the background was a light color. 10-bit 120Hz, in my opinion, should only be used for media work/editing, browsing, and other low-intensity activities. 3. The ghosting was resolved by putting the monitor back to 144Hz, 8bit color, and was perfectly enjoyable for gaming, and should be used as such. 4. HDR was pretty bad. It just overly brightened and washed everything out. I did not make any real attempt at changing settings around to compensate for it because it really wasnt all that important to me. (REFER TO NOV 2021 UPDATE REGARDING HDR) 5. FreeSync, at least with my Nvidia card, was not good. It did eliminate tearing, but it introduced bad pixel ghosting because it overrides monitor settings, shutting off Over Drive and Ultra-Low Latency. This may be completely different for you if you have a 20-series Nvidia card or AMD. Also, the Setup G-Sync option (which can be enabled on even FreeSync monitors) will not be available in Nvidia Control Panel unless you turn on FreeSync in the monitor settings first. Overall I love this monitor when I use it in the way described. When I use Photoshop or After Effects, I put it on 10-bit/120Hz. When I game, I put it on 8-bit/144HZ, all in the monitor. For the price, its a small thing to deal with, so Im pretty happy overall. Just dont expect this to be perfect with all of the features it possesses.

> 3 dayThis is a great monitor, I turned on Metro Exodus and my jaw dropped with how pretty everything was. If youre used to 1080 at 60hz youre really in for a treat. I have heard that the mount sucks but I never used it as I picked up a VESA mount that worked really well.
