The monitor arrived today. I just got it set up and am putting it through the motions. So far I havent identified any dead pixels whatsoever. No real edge bleed to speak of. Color balance looks great out of the box as reviews noted. I like that it comes factory calibrated and ships with a print out from the factory. I havent seen a need to really tweak things yet, which makes the setup pretty hassle free.

There is a firmware release around Jan that fixed the flicker and fan is more silent (not on off).

I have an x34 and x35. they are both Excellent, but the thing is the x35 isnt that much better than the x35. the hdr mode is really great but ... not worth the price folks.

  • One very disappointed fan.

Joystick broke on the back of the monitor - removing all options on the monitor. Acer technical support told me it would be $1100 to have it fixed.

My son just purchased this display directly from Acer and he says everything is really nice, good quality and games look incredible, easy setup. One problem. He said the fan is so loud and pops on and off so much that he almost sent it back. He does regret buying it. He said for this much money you shouldnt hear anything. He would have sent it back but Acers return policy is not friendly. If youre going to buy it, buy it through Amazon where the return policy is much better. After hearing my son complain and hes not a complainer, I thought I should write this to those intending to buy. I was ready to purchase one myself but I didnt for that very reason.

This my first Gsync monitor and it is well worth the price. Dont get confused like me if your also a first time Gsync buyer. When enabling Gsync through Nvidia control panel make sure Gsync is enabled in the option and there shouldnt be a 3rd option since it Native Gsync. I spent hours apon hours and even reset pc entirely thinking i needed that 3rd option box to be checked since it would not show up. I guess from a website i seen a native Gsync also did not have it while2 other different monitors that was, tested Gsync and compatible Gsync had the 3rd option of it. Also Gsync demo software if you use it and have gsync off you wont be able to use the gsync box in that program if that helps also.

I got this monitor few month back and a little later I got LG 38WN95C-W which sits on my desk side by side with this the Acer and yet another 38 monitor. This is a beautiful monitor, no denying it. I got LG for a simple reason that it has much smaller stand and Another Acer simply would not fit. Both this Acer and LG are great, and I run them at 144HZ at full resolution, driven from 3090 GPUs. They are a bit far from my computers and I could not find copper cables to handle this setup, so I use fiber optic variant. But staring at these two monitors side by side I have to say I prefer LG. In my subjective opinion the picture is better. LG has some quirks that Acer does not. For example to install Ubuntu server you have to switch to using HDMI, it simply does not work with Display Port. That is until you install Nvidia drivers and all is goot after that. I guess Acer is more polished, mode debugged. But after youve gone over initial troubles with LG, its picture is unbeatable.

Prior to this monitor i was running a 4k monitor with a pretty low refresh rate for about 2 years. Have been patiently waiting for the x35 since it was announced many years ago and have been constantly checking their website since. Wow was i blown away with the image quality and the HDR, the image quality was not as good as the 4k monitor i had prior but with the addition of the HDR1000 and higher refresh rate this thing is far beyond any 4k monitor out there. It did take me a bit to get this thing dialed in properly but man was it worth every penny!! I have had some halo when HDR is on and there is an all black background, also regarding the fan i have noticed, oddly i only hear it when the monitor is off but my Pc boots up, for whatever reason it turns on and goes off when the monitor is turned on.

Monitor kicked on after PC came out of sleep. Noticed a stuck red pixel in the upper right of the monitor. Seriously? After less than a week, this monitor already has a stuck or bad pixel. Tried leaving the monitor off for a day, the pixel recovery programs that the interwebs say to try. Nothing worked. For the price I paid, I expect better from Acer. This was a great gaming monitor. Division 2 and Destiny 2 all looked and played beautifully. But sad that this happened so soon. I will be returning to Amazon.
