The entire unit is a sponge, even the handle, although it looks like its two part. The sponge is easy to hold even when your hands are greasy. Its inexpensive so thats good.

I have always used a towel to apply tire shine and always saw the mess it made on the rims and also on the side of the car after applying and driving even hours later while using any tire shine other than Adam’s. I would highly recommend the tire shine and the applicator. You will be very pleased with it! It’s kind of dark in the parking garage but you can kind of see how shiny the tire is and it just looks so clean!
