Comes apart rather quickly. After that the rope slides down the wire and you basically just have a curly wire with a blob of rope at the end. Definitely not macaw-friendly!

My quaker runs all over them. Have one in all 4 of his cages (2 sleeping and 2 play cages). We are a dual household family. He chews on them some, but so far, they have held up well ~3 months on the oldest one. Wouldnt recommend for smaller bird, a little overkill for a quaker.

Purchased this for my Quaker parrot, he hasnt ever had a spiral rope so thought Id give it a try. Price didnt seem bad either. First impressions out of the box was, wow this is small but I opened it further and it ended up being a little more to what I was expecting. I am a little disappointed with how wide the rope is, it is squishier than other ropes he has. The wire/inners must be skinnier but he seems to grip onto it fine. My only concern is that he might tear through it faster than normal because he does like to chew, time will tell. Overall pleased with purchase and would probably buy again but look at the other sizes. Photos for reference for anyone wondering size, couldnt get whole thing in shot. Its easily customizable.

My Amazon loves this in her outdoor aviary. She hangs out quietly at times and bounces up and down at other times. She seems so happy that I purchased a second rope for her. Such a happy girl
