Its ok to remove caulking but it is not as wonderful/easy as they say on the product page. The triangle thing to smooth out caulking is good.

A must have tool. I didnt even need to do a caulking job but bought this anyway. Glad I did. It works fantastic. Perfect for doing this type of work. No more scrapper or whatever you use. This tool is designed for removing caulk. You can even use the other side to smooth out the caulk. That works good as well. Highly recommend. Eventually I may break this tool down over time but would buy another.

I purchased this product in order to renovate a bathroom in my home, the original owners had done a shoddy job of caulking in the first place so that may be where my issues with this tool started. Our shower had been caulked with a super heavy bead, maybe .75-1, and the caulk removal tool had difficulties even puncturing it. Once I was able to actually get the tool going it was iffy at best, it would indeed remove some large strips in one piece but others it would just rip and tear the caulk off in uneven chunks. This part of the tool seems like it COULD work well, but it didnt feel as sharp as it needed to be and it had issues removing our gunky old caulking. In addition to underperforming, that specific portion of the tool actually broke, the metal is held in by two red pieces of plastic on either side and one snapped off, it was still useable but by that point in time I simply resorted to using a razorblade. The second part of this 3 in 1 tool is the plastic scraper which also was not very impressive, I had difficulties getting it to scrape any caulking off, possibly because of the shoddy caulking in the first place. The third tool, the caulk spreader, I didnt even bother to use or try, I just spread it with a finger to form the bead. Although I would imagine it would work well at just spreading the caulk. Honestly, the tool could be better with just a sharper metal portion for the caulk removal, but as it stands you would be better just spending your money on a tool designed to use razor blades because a single razorblade can do everything this can, other than spreading caulking. TL;DR - Tool pretty meh, just buy a tool designed to use razorblades.

The previous caulk job on my shower was pretty awful. Not only was it failing, but it was also just done very poorly/messily to begin with. So before recaulking, I needed to remove the existing caulk. I knew this was going to be a nightmare. Except it wasnt. At all. I ordered this tool to help get the job done and it annihilated the existing caulk, not only cutting it from the wall but pulling it right out! The plastic scraper edge then made short work of removing any residual caulk on the tiles without leaving any damage. Amazing! Sure, you could struggle. Or you could just caulk over the existing caulk and risk poor adhesion. But this tool makes doing the job right a breeze! Id absolutely recommend this tool for anybody who needs to recaulk their bathroom! For a mere $6, its a no brainer!

This tool came as a packaged deal with a caulk that I needed and couldnt get at a local store. I didnt really need it or want it but packaged deal for something I needed meant I was getting it anyway. I decided to try it because silicone caulk can be a pain to apply neatly. I LOVE this tool, it is great for wiping away excess caulk and making nice neat caulk lines. Make sure to clean it off immediately. If you let silicone dry onto it you will have a very hard time getting it off. I found that baby wipes work really good for wiping it clean during use.
