These look and feel a little rough, but theyll do the job. Out of curiosity, I took apart an old Starrett punch and found the springs to be interchangeable with the smaller punch in this set - so if youve got a similar old center punch with tired springs, this will rejuvenate it, and you get an extra larger punch to boot. Nothing wrong with these as they are though, especially for the price paid. I havent used them on an actual project yet, but they hit hard for sure, I expect them to work great for centering drill bits in metal. I havent tried breaking glass, but cranked down all the way I bet they would.

Great product

Both punch same holes when used, fully tighten. In a 3/16 mild steel flat bar, these make same 1/32 punch holes. Make note of that drill bit size.. These will work on aluminum but thats not steel and the description should be changed or spring tension should be increased.. How do you test your punches??? Ill stick to my basic hammer punches, at least I can start with a 3/16 bit.

These are exactly what I needed to customize jewelry blanks. I can punch precisely where I need. And then the punches are easy and perfect.

verry weak springs

My first product was defective and I tried to remedy it by oiling it. It does improve but still not well enough. I contacted the seller and the seller was friendly and helpful. Once found that my product is defective, seller send replacement very quickly. New product arrived perfect from Amazon warehouse. It works out of the box and I really like the adjustable tension.

My older punch broke after only 40+ years. Eben if these only last a fraction of the time, they are a great buy

My husband got these center punches and really likes them. They work well, with a nice indent. He only wishes that both punches would have a ball to fit in the palm of your hand instead of just one, and it doesnt seem that that one comes off to interchange. That was an easy fix for him so it wasnt a deal breaker.
