With this back protector you will hardly know you have it on, its light and air flows nicely through it. There should be more of these type of air flowing protectors on the market IMO.

Fits nicely in the new AS jacket. Not super heavy or too uncomfortable. I’m pleased with this so far. I’m going to assume it will do its real job properly, if need be…but, hopefully I’ll never need to find out. Till then…

I bought the Nucleon XR-Celli (size Large) for my Alpinestars T-Faster mesh jacket (size XL) because the basic jacket doesnt come with any padding for the back. The installation was very easy because the Nucleon was made for Alpinestars jackets. It took about 30 seconds to insert the back pad into the mesh receptacle on the interior back panel of the jacket. Overall, the pad is unobtrusive and doesnt take up much space in the jacket, but it does add a little weight. The latter is a small price to pay for the added protection. On the road, I didnt notice it at all while riding. Basically, you will know that the pad is there while just walking around in it. I cant give testimony about what kind of protection the extra padding offers, nor do I have an overwhelming desire to test that feature out. One thing I do find a little odd is that Alpinestars offers many different models of this pad, all at different prices. In my mind, it should be one-stop shopping for all, offering ultimate protection. To contrast that, my Cortech Tourmaster didnt have options for different armor with the jacket -- it came with a full set built in. I just feel that the maximum safety of the rider should be the goal with a product like this pad.

This is lightweight and flexible, more so than other similarly rated armor I have used. You dont feel like youre riding around with a 3/4 piece of plywood in your jacket. I got this for a Joe Rocket XL jacket and fits just fine. To make things better, compared with other CE 1 rated back armor, the price is very reasonable.

Fits great in my size small Stella T-GP Plus R v3 Air Jacket. Doesn’t change the fit of the jacket at all.
