This is a fantastic router bit when used properly. It seems fairly fragile so Id never try to cut more than a few mm of depth at a time or cut too quickly with it. But taking shallow cuts and working slowly up to the pattern, Im able to make recesses for illuminated guitar truss rod covers. It cuts so cleanly and thoroughly that it left a shiny surface on the wood I used it with. Had no problem cutting through maple, mahogany and cherry.

Ignore the folks that are breaking these bits. They’re forcing the bit at slow RPM and feeding toooo faaaaasssst. Run at very high rpm and move very slow to make sure you don’t chunk out and it cuts perfectly - very nice!!! This bit is for detail routing, it’s not for removing big chunks of wood. I’m using these to do you final passes on pickup routes for tight radiuses and it works perfectly!!! Make sure you take care of the bits by cleaning them up before putting them away and they’ll last a long time.

This is my first Amana router bit, and wont be the last. Great carbide. Very sharp. I used in a pattern cut I was making for my grandson. Very clean. One of the shortest overall length router bits I have used too. Used it in a Bosch Colt router.

Durable, engineered and manufactured according to high standards. I use these great bits for mortising out hinges, strike plates, mostly, but they provide so many possibilities, with great accuracy, for a very reasonable price.

Should preface that mesquite is the wood being used to review this bit, but it only lasted for about an hour of cumulative use before the bearing was no longer reliable. Will still serve just fine in the router table taking tiny bites on pieces that can use the fence as a guide, but wont be using this one for template work anymore.

Decided I wanted to have smaller radius edges on a set of stairs I was building vs the somewhat boring bullnose treads you usually see. This bit held up for 4 stair stringers to cut the small radius to fit the treads into. Did a great job and the results were worth the extra work!

I bought 2 of these bits wich was tough to swallow at that price point but i needed to clean out some corners on a hardwood project and wanted an easier way than chisel... bit dulled almost instantly, bit snapped at the bearing before i could clean the first corner. Grabbed the second one and it lasted till 3rd corner and also snapped.... my other amana bits are great but these have a weak link

So I initially not happy because the cutting edge didn’t go all the way to the bearing… so if you have a thin template you can only cut about a 1/16” before stopping to trim the “lip” formed between the bearing and the cutting edge. Annoying, but not a deal breaker. Until the thing just snapped in half! I was routing an existing cavity slightly larger and wasn’t using much pressure. Maybe I just got a defective one, but I doubt it. The broken shaft was hollow!

These are great for the first couple of minutes. The bearings will fall apart in literally two or three minutes, and if you’re lucky, you won’t ruin your project. Start with a larger bit and bearing , and clean up your work with this bit. That way you can get at least part of it done before the bearings go bad.

Used this to make dutchmans to fill in for where door hinges were. Good product for the money
