> 24 hourThis is a fantastic router bit when used properly. It seems fairly fragile so Id never try to cut more than a few mm of depth at a time or cut too quickly with it. But taking shallow cuts and working slowly up to the pattern, Im able to make recesses for illuminated guitar truss rod covers. It cuts so cleanly and thoroughly that it left a shiny surface on the wood I used it with. Had no problem cutting through maple, mahogany and cherry.

> 24 hourI bought this bit to route multiple cavities in electric guitar bodies. I should have checked the overall length of this bit before I ordered, I assumed that it would be at least the same length of its smaller sibling, the one that it is just 1/4 diameter but this one is shorter. For the router table, if you have a thin insert you should be alright, I have a 3/4 inch MDF table and this will not clear that that distance with a 1/4 inch template at all, at least not if you follow the minimum insert distance that is marked on the bit. Using it with a plunge router is also a problem, even when removing the template youre always at the maximum reach of the bit. I just thought since the 1/4 inch diameter bit is considered a delicate toy bit, this one being bigger would be at least of the same length but its not :-/

> 24 hourI was very excited to use this new bit. I started out by using another bit to remove all but maybe 1/4” deep then I was going to use my new bit to make the final pass. Plunged the bit in, made my cut and when I pulled up the router I saw the piece of blade among the sawdust in the new cut. It was maybe a 1/4” of wood, cut inside a small bow tie template and broke the first time, probably within 30 seconds. I’m disappointed because I have many templates that a need this small template bit for. Really hoping to find something i can use.

> 24 hourThese are great for the first couple of minutes. The bearings will fall apart in literally two or three minutes, and if you’re lucky, you won’t ruin your project. Start with a larger bit and bearing , and clean up your work with this bit. That way you can get at least part of it done before the bearings go bad.

> 24 hourDurable, engineered and manufactured according to high standards. I use these great bits for mortising out hinges, strike plates, mostly, but they provide so many possibilities, with great accuracy, for a very reasonable price.

> 24 hourIgnore the folks that are breaking these bits. They’re forcing the bit at slow RPM and feeding toooo faaaaasssst. Run at very high rpm and move very slow to make sure you don’t chunk out and it cuts perfectly - very nice!!! This bit is for detail routing, it’s not for removing big chunks of wood. I’m using these to do you final passes on pickup routes for tight radiuses and it works perfectly!!! Make sure you take care of the bits by cleaning them up before putting them away and they’ll last a long time.
