AmazonBasics DSLR and Laptop Backpack (Orange)

Greater than one weekGreat gadget bag. Lots of well designed space. I was looking to upgrade from a smaller gadget bag due to the accumulation of gear. I could no longer carry all my gear in one bag. Thats not gonna be a problem with this bag. Theres plenty of room for my Nikon (Its not a camera. Its a Nikon. ;-), several lenses, 2 flash units, macro sleeves, filters, etc, etc, with plenty of padding to protect my precious glass. The laptop compartment certainly wasnt a priority for me, but now that I have it in hand, I think the added bonus of having the laptop compartment is something Ill be thankful for many times. If for nothing else, Ill be able to transfer photos to my laptop and view them at large scale while still in the field. If it saves me from missing a single shot, it will have proven its worth. I also love the backpack gadget bag concept. Ive always been a freak about having to have ALL my gear with me at all times, and I do a lot of shooting at National Parks. Now I can literally have ALL of my gear with me, as opposed to grabbing the Nikon and a couple of lenses, leaving the rest in my truck, trudging 3/4 of a mile through snow and mud, only to realize that my 35mm sure would be great to have for this shot, then trudging back to my truck to fetch it. Yeah, I know. Zooms. I have PLENTY of zooms, but my fixed lenses are all much faster than my zooms.

Greater than one weekSo if youre looking at a bag in this price range, youre not putting a $7000 camera in it, right? So lets nuts and bolts this. Definitely plenty of room in here for all the extras that someone who is a casual photographer might have. I got this pack in a bundle with a Canon T5, and it fits great with two lenses and plenty more. Ive pushed and pulled on it, and the quality of the one I got seems great. Love the flexibility of the dividers on the inside. If its not evident from the picture, you can configure it to have separate compartments for pretty much any fragile bits you might be taking with you. Also, and this is VERY important for someone like me, the orange looks good. My camera is not a source of income, its a hobby, a fun toy basically, and I want accesories that look good. This fits the bill, making me look and feel more professional than I am, without feeling like Im being too full of myself. Im not so in love with orange and black that Im going to run out and buy an Oklahoma State jersey, but its definitely better than boring black and grey. Highly recommend.

Greater than one weekComfortable, versatile, you can attach your tripod to the side, fits everything I need. The main compartment has adjustable walls that are velcro, for a myriad of arrangements. Ive got the camera body, two lenses, the lens that came with the camera, and room for me to stick my wallet and my little makeup bag in there. Theres a section in the front with little pockets in there and a place to clip your keys, plus a separate compartment for my laptop (I have a Macbook Pro 13, and theres probably enough room in there for a 17 computer, and it keeps the computer padded and safe. Best part? Its ORANGE inside. Okay, I hate orange, but the bright orange makes it so easy to find stuff inside. Ladies, you know the black hole that your purse is, when the lining is black? Yeah, thats not an issue with this bag. Seems well made. No Canon or Nikon logo on the outside to signal thieves, in fact, most people wouldnt even know its a camera bag. Cons? Its pretty darn big. And with the padded sides, its fairly rigid (as it should be), so its not easy to store if you dont have the space for it. Im pretty happy with it. Worth the price.

> 3 dayThis worked perfectly for my first overseas trip. I wanted a carryon that would protect my DSLR which I was never going to let more than 4 feet away. The backpack has a number of removable velcroed pads that allow you to shape the individual packing areas. If I had been taking multiple lenses (which I wasnt) this would have been great. All I needed for special padding was an area for a Nikon D90. The backpack has plenty of room for a change of clothes, a laptop, pockets for personal items (sunglasses, lipstick, wallet, passport, stuff), and also space for the quart bag of small toiletries, and another small bag for prescriptions, cough drops, etc. It holds so much you have to be careful from making it too heavy. The adjustable straps are comfortable and you could also carry it by the handle. It does not have a slip strap for the handle of your wheelie suitcase, but you could easily adapt the existing straps for this. It worked great as a daypack for carrying everything on tours. And it has side straps for carrying a tripod. Definitely my permanent go-to bag for adventuring. Where dd we go? Tromso, Norway above the Arctic Circle and yes, we saw the Northern Lights.

> 3 dayThis backpack is very well constructed, has tons of room, and has a lot of adjustable barriers. I previously owned a Amazon basics DSLR backpack (pictured) that has a black interior and is slightly smaller than this bag. This bag has much more room and is more rigid. I can just barely fit my Alienware 17 into the laptop sleeve, and it kind of pokes into the zipper (pictured) and looks like it might pop through the zipper if I took it in the bag on a hike (which I wouldnt do anyway). The laptop sleeve is not quite as protective as you might want it to be. There isnt much padding around the sides or top of the laptop. To me the laptop sleeve is just an extra bonus that I will not be using most of the time. It also comes with a waterproof cover, which will be really nice for for potentially dewy camping and time-lapse recording nights. Also the straps on this backpack are really nice. You can adjust them so that your hips support all of the weight of the bag, which is ideal for going on long hikes. I am really glad that I went with this backpack. Ive seen many other more expensive backpacks that dont have as many great features and all around build quality as this one. This is what I have that fits in the bag with room to spare: D3200 camera body (I hope to upgrade in the future) 18-300mm 3.5-5.6 Nikkor lens 35mm Nikkor lens 10mm f/2.8 Sigma Fisheye lens Yongnuo YN560 IV Flash Vello i-TTL cord for Nikon Nikon ME-1 mic Nikon AC power adapter NiZn battery charger 8 NiZn AA batteries for flash (not in my review photos) 2 EN-EL14 batteries, 4 EN-EL14a batteries several other accessories such as an interval timer, polarizer filters, SD cards & readers, USB cables, HDMI cable, a lens heater and cable, a 12V DC to 120v AC inverter, etc. Unfortunately this bag isnt big enough to also hold my 12V lawnmower battery ;) When I get a better camera body Ill replace my 12V battery, AC inverter, and AC power adapter setup with one of those fancy power packs. Ill probably still use a smaller 12V battery to power my lens heater though, although I could easily replace that with a light weight lithium battery.

Greater than one weekShowed up and looks like the description. This thing is meant to hit the trail with a heavy duty belt and padded straps. Nice felt or flannel really material in the camera/lense storage area , and, in the laptop storage compartment. Love the orange color that I ordered. Would like a few more pockets for things. I was SUPRISED at how big this backpack is, wow. My fault cause I chose to get one of the larger ones to make sure my laptop would fit in also, but wow, this thing will probably fit in a 15 or 17 laptop. I have a 13 Macbook Pro, and only a couple lenses, so there is a lot of empty space right now. I will probably get a smaller backpack for quick trips, but once I get more lenses and head off to Israel next year this will hold everything I need, so, I like this product. It does have a couple straps for a tripod too. Oh, and the rain fly, nice. Would like more inside pockets. Example: a sleeve or divider in the laptop section for the cord/charger maybe, but, for the price, this is amazing so far. I look forward to fully packing this wonderful amazon packpack with all my Glass, Canon 80D, Trinkets and heading off to new adventures. With all the room could even pack in an extra pair of socks/underwear etc... , deodorant and toothbrush. Dont forget your passport. Aloha from Hawaii

> 3 dayThis a great and unique camera bag. The orange interior makes it easy to see black camera components so they dont get misplaced. The pack has padding on the back side that shields your backbone from abrasion. This feature makes it very comfortable to carry heavy gear. I have a Nikon D7100 with a 200-500mm Tamron lens mounted that fits very well inside due to the reconfigurable partitions. I found that the zipper handles are top quality and all metal so the other comments about their weakness seem either unfounded or now corrected by Amazon. The only issue that I did have was that I lost one of the two removable velcro fitted straps in a parking lot as I took out my camera. I didnt notice until the next stop that it was missing. We returned to the parking lot and found it. It also has fallen out since then in the car as I took out the camera. I may tack one end down permanently so they cant come off. It is no big deal and it is due to the moderately poor adhesion of the velcro to the orange felt like material in the interior. Perhaps a more aggressive version of the hook side of the velcro would be an improvement. I also got caught out in the rain on a wildlife photoshoot and the supplied rain cover worked spectacularly. I was soaked but the camera gear was dry and safe.

> 3 dayLove this Backpack. Took it to Hawaii with me. I used it as my carry-on. The middle zipper compartment held my camera and lenses. It is very well cushioned. I did not have to worry about my camera and lenses knocking together. The front zipper contained my billfold and other needs for traveling. The back zipper compartment held my 15 computer. I have had issues before where my computer would not fit in carry-on bag. I was pleasantly surprised. One other feature of this backpack is that it comes with a rain cover. While hiking, I used it to cover my camera when we would walk into a little rain showers. The straps are nice and cushioned. There is a lower strap that fits around the waist that is also nicely cushioned. I am a smaller woman, 53 and was able to make the straps small enough for the backpack to ride comfortably on my back. The straps can go a whole lot larger, so could fit a larger man. Another feature is the side pockets, my license and room key went in there. I didnt have to fish around the main compartment to find them when I need them. There are straps on the side of the backpack that you can use to connect your tripod. There were comments about the quality of this backpack. I had no problems with anything tearing off. It was very secure when lifting it from the top handle. I know I could have spent a whole lot more for a camera backpack. All-in-all, it is a great value.

> 3 dayI bought two of these. I liked the first one very much but caught the belt clasp in a car door and broke the plastic. It still works but I wanted a second so I can enjoy the bag once the clasp no longer works. If you have the pack completely filled then avoid lifting by one shoulder strap I heard a ripping sound once but no stitches have come loose yet. I now put a full pack on by reaching through the shoulder strap and use the handle to lift the pack into position. The handle is strong and does not have any issue lifting a full pack. I often use the backpack to take my laptop, DSLR camera, two GoPro cameras, Nintendo Switch, full size keyboard (sicks out of outside pocked by about an inch so I use a strap to make sure the zipper stays up on the sides and the keyboard stays in the pocket), a portable DVD player (small), charging accessories, and my journal (small). This has been a great way to take all my tech stuff and it fits under the seat on an aircraft. I have used it for about 6 trips (one to Europe) and it has been a joy to use.
