I use this backpack on a daily basis and so far its holding up really well. The laptop sleeve can easily fit a 15in MacBook Pro and an iPad; the camera section is great and I feel like my gear is protected, and the front pocket is good for holding spare batteries, chargers, and other stuff like that. The only downside is that because of how the backpack is shaped and how the pads/wall things are shaped, there are only a few ways to configure it that Ive found work well. I also wish it was a bit larger, but it fits my DSLR, 3 (soon to be 4) lenses, and my gorilla pod just fine, in addition to everything that can fit in the other pockets. Edit: This thing is still awesome. Over the last year and a half, it’s held up very well, with no rips or fraying, and has continued to meet my needs as I’ve grown as a photographer and videographer. It’s still not quite perfect. It’s still a tad small, the front pocket is small but functional, and there are only so many ways it can be configured. With that said, I’ve still managed to fit: A canon 7D mark ii with the battery grip A canon T5 A 50mm f/1.8 A 24mm f/2.8 A gorilla pod An ND filter A full blown Monfroto tripod (separated into two pieces, but it still fits) Chargers for both battery types I carry Three or four spare batteries (could easily fit more) A spare battery grip insert (to power the 7D off of AAA batteries) Loads of miscellaneous cables A pelican SD card case And then a laptop and and ipad and a water bottle strapped to the side. For 35 bucks, you CANNOT go wrong with this backpack.

Fits my digital SLR camera, zoom lens, flash, lens hoods, filters, cleaning supplies, mini collapsible tripod, camera remote, camera charger, laptop charger, wireless mouse, spare laptop battery, laptop backup hard drive, all laptop and camera manuals and CDs, and the rain hood in the main compartment. The laptop goes in its compartment. The small outside pockets and separate briefcase-type compartment are empty, so theres still room for other items like cell phone, its charger, pens, earbuds, some papers, passport and wallet, and a few other small items. With all that, it is heavy, but thats expected, especially since my laptop is ancient and heavy. Straps have a large range of adjustment. Flexible partitioning allowed me to pack the camera, zoom lens, and flash near the top, for quicker acces to those more commonly used items when speed is needed. Good amount of padding to protect the gear. Combining laptop and camera makes perfect sense for taking and editing/displaying photos during or immediately after events and while traveling. The combination also saves one carry-on item when flying, which was my initial reason for buying it. Only slight issue is that the side-to side taper toward the top of the bag makes those corners of the laptop tight and hard to close the zipper around. A thinner, more modern laptop would likely alleviate this issue. Fantastic product for the price. Its new, so if I have durability issues, I will update this review.

I got this bag one day before traveling to Thailand with the plan to also go to a Thai National Forest. I took a Canon 80D with the 18-135 nano attached, 100mm macro, and Sigma 150-600. There was room for the charger, three batteries, a Mophi for field charging, hard drive and extra cards and misc. junk such as a sport camera. The compartment against your back is heavily padded and accommodated my MacBook 13” with plenty of room to spare. I also took some papers that I needed to bring in that compartment. Thailand is warm and I sweated quite a bit but the bag protected everything in that compartment. The middle compartment is for the equipment and has plenty of dividers. The Sigma fit along the side easily and would have fit in the center section on the camera with no problem. The dividers are adjustable with Velcro and can be moved easily. The outside compartment has a zippered pouch that I used for money and passports. There are other sections and a place for pens and notebooks. The pack seems well built and although the trip is only two weeks there is no evidence of any stitching coming loose and everything is solid. The top handle seems to have been re-engineered from earlier versions because it is heavily stitched in. All of the straps are heavy and strongly attached. The only issue that I noted was that the computer compartment zipper is also the part that carries the shoulder straps. The zipper is very strong but you do not want to have both zippers at the top as they can pull open while the pack is on. If both zippers are to one side or the other there is no problem. Be aware that the fully loaded pack will be on the heavier side. Pros: Solidly built Plenty of room Dual zipper pulls on all zippers Straps and back are well padded Cons: The computer compartment zippers can open if not zipped to one side or the other. No air circulation along the back—needs air conditioning No Sherpa provided to help carry the gear The side pockets are too small to carry water bottles. Overall this is a really good buy and I would buy it again.

For the price, its great. The velcro dividers let you configure the interior to your needs. In my case, I can fit a camera with medium telephoto in the middle section, a long telephoto on one side, a compact tripod on the other, a wide angle zoom above the camera, and extra batteries and lens cleaner in the small remaining spots above. I could probably squeeze in a second body with short lens attached, but then the weight starts getting too high. This is in the main compartment, which seems too deep for a laptop. Seems pretty well-padded, though I did not try testing this by intentionally dropping it to see if my lenses would survive! The top flap has another storage area, which is probably where the laptop is supposed to go. It includes a zipped section, if you wanted to keep your wallet, phone, keys, or what ever in an easily accessed, but hard to accidentally fall out, section. Theres enough room in this section that, given the items mentioned above, I can still slip in a 1/2 liter bottle of water or two and some snacks, if I want to. But once you do that, theres no room for sweaters or jackets. If the weathers going to change, youre out of space to account for that. In fact, beyond maybe a small, packable windbreaker, your photo stuff (if youre really serious) is going to pretty much fill the bag, so not a lot of room for other backpacking essentials). Works fine as a daypack, assuming predictable weather and the ability to bail out if the weather turns. Given other reviews, I try not to overload the pack (weight-wise), and am careful with the top strap. Although it appears double-stitched, I would not trust it, alone, to lift a fully-loaded backpack. Also, when fully-loaded, I did hear a little ripping when lifting with one of the shoulder straps. So I would say to watch the weight (no more than 5-8 pounds, which, for me, means the compact, crop-sensor dslr body, a medium telephoto, a long telephoto, a compact tripod, a bottle of water, and assorted personal items). Carrying two bodies with sufficient lenses gets trickier, especially if I toss in the tripod, which takes almost 1/3 of the storage space. I do not use either the waist belt or the sternum strap. Either would only be a factor when walking in spacious but uneven terrain, with a heavy load (in which case, the straps help distribute weight off your shoulders and on to your hips and torso). Since I dont trust the top handle or shoulder straps for lifting and pulling the backpack on with a heavy load, thats going to happen very rarely. But, given the low price, I dont expect this to be able to shoulder as much as packs costing 2 or 3 times more. With a modest load, it performs well. The shoulder straps are very wide, and do a good job of spreading the weight all by themselves. Addendum -- after having used this for over a year, now, I still like it. Ive been careful not to overload it, and all straps and handles are still in good shape. One thing I did notice is, because of the large storage area, it does shift my center of gravity back quite a bit. If Im walking down a steep but somewhat slick incline, the pack weight placed my center of gravity so far back that my boots dont hold traction, and my feet go out from under me, landing me on my butt. Repeatedly.

Have now had this item for over 6 months and taken 4 trips with it so I think I can review it with some certainty. No zippers have failed, no stitching has unraveled, despite somewhat over filled it has not failed to fit under the seat on any airplane so far, even including the smaller regional jets. When I first got it I was having real problems with my left shoulder so I was being really careful with it, but in the last few months I have been able to wear it properly and it makes getting through airports with short connections much easier than my shoulder slung bag used previously. I carry a Surface and a leather document portfolio along with books or magazines in the large pouch nearest the straps. A digital SLR along with 70-200mm, 200-500mm, 28-70mm, flash, GPS, power chargers, cables, flashlights, binoculars, etc. etc. all fit. The only thing I noticed, dont close the zippers on that big back pocket and leave them up near the handle, pull both down to one side or the other. The weight of the rest of the pack caused them to unzip and for it to partially flap open. Had I not noticed it I might have lost items. I have not has a repeat since being sure they are to one side or the other. In short a spacious back that does fit under airline seats and seems pretty rugged so far.

This is on the same level of high end bags, and the truth about a camera bag is you will buy many over the years..i do out door photography and weddings and the like, every day packing it up unpacking to the deep woods or in the mountains to the studio, the bag takes a beating. Most of the time i replace mine in a year for one reason or another rip, bad zipper or strap ripped off. this pack has out lived a 400 pack! so this is my go to gear bag i could careless about brand at this point save the money for new glass dont waste it on high bags get this one. its been almost 3 years! that is a life time to me for bags! the space is so so.. not the best but not the worst, i can take along a D5 mark II and 1D X mark II and 4 lens plus a laptop and a good cleaning kit extra batteries and some snacks ;) it will be at around 75 pounds when i am done some times less depending what i am doing but all and all its at max and takes it well! cant say enough for the price this is the way to go.

Just received this bag today, on time, as promised. I selected this backpack bag for a new camera purchase and I didnt want to spend a fortune on it. This bag is designed to have the camera at the bottom, not at the top (I thought I ordered the bag with the camera positioned at the top, not the bottom, but I made the mistake.) The bag is slightly deeper at the bottom than the top and the adjustable dividers inside are tapered to align with the bag. Reversing the dividers to position the camera at the top, for easy access, works. The front flap is well padded, so I dont worry about the camera sitting above the dividers. The straps are securely attached by being sewn around the outside and across forming an x in a square. Material feels comparable in quality to my much more costly REI backpack that Ive used nearly daily since 2005. The chest and waist straps are amble size and the bag rides comfortably on the shoulders. The curved shoulder straps add to the comfort and I think the external padding on the back will make it nice on a hike. Unfortunately, the bag is not waterproof, but does come with a rainhood. The tapered dividers and lack of waterproofing are the reasons I gave it 4 stars. If it falls apart on the first trip, Ill let you know.

Comfortable, versatile, you can attach your tripod to the side, fits everything I need. The main compartment has adjustable walls that are velcro, for a myriad of arrangements. Ive got the camera body, two lenses, the lens that came with the camera, and room for me to stick my wallet and my little makeup bag in there. Theres a section in the front with little pockets in there and a place to clip your keys, plus a separate compartment for my laptop (I have a Macbook Pro 13, and theres probably enough room in there for a 17 computer, and it keeps the computer padded and safe. Best part? Its ORANGE inside. Okay, I hate orange, but the bright orange makes it so easy to find stuff inside. Ladies, you know the black hole that your purse is, when the lining is black? Yeah, thats not an issue with this bag. Seems well made. No Canon or Nikon logo on the outside to signal thieves, in fact, most people wouldnt even know its a camera bag. Cons? Its pretty darn big. And with the padded sides, its fairly rigid (as it should be), so its not easy to store if you dont have the space for it. Im pretty happy with it. Worth the price.

I have become a fan of Amazon Basic items and this bag is no exception. I had used the Basics DSLR Bag and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Like this bag, it had lots of space for your equipment, with space for two DSLRs and 5-6 lenses, depending on size. I have a Nikon D5100 body, with the kit 18-55 lens and the 55-200. In addition to that, I have a number of old film-era prime lenses from the small 50mm to the long 180mm f/2.8 and the 300mm f/4. This bag handles them with ease and allows me to reconfigure the bag as needed. So far, the bag has held together nicely, even when I load it with my heavy lenses and gear. The straps and belt are strong and easily adjustable. Im a big guy, so its nice to have a bag that easily adjusts to me. I havent hiked with this bag, but the system seems strong, comfortable, and very usable. Space for accessories is the one down side of this bag. This is where I wish they had continued the configuration from the smaller DSLR only bag. The top flap of that bag has a series of clear vinyl zipper pouches on the inside and a large pocket with bungee cord ties on the outside. This bag only has a simple flap over a very nice pocket system on the camera side of the top flap. Id love to have the best of both bags to keep all my accessories, cables, parts, and cards organized. This is a great bag, especially for the price.

Great gadget bag. Lots of well designed space. I was looking to upgrade from a smaller gadget bag due to the accumulation of gear. I could no longer carry all my gear in one bag. Thats not gonna be a problem with this bag. Theres plenty of room for my Nikon (Its not a camera. Its a Nikon. ;-), several lenses, 2 flash units, macro sleeves, filters, etc, etc, with plenty of padding to protect my precious glass. The laptop compartment certainly wasnt a priority for me, but now that I have it in hand, I think the added bonus of having the laptop compartment is something Ill be thankful for many times. If for nothing else, Ill be able to transfer photos to my laptop and view them at large scale while still in the field. If it saves me from missing a single shot, it will have proven its worth. I also love the backpack gadget bag concept. Ive always been a freak about having to have ALL my gear with me at all times, and I do a lot of shooting at National Parks. Now I can literally have ALL of my gear with me, as opposed to grabbing the Nikon and a couple of lenses, leaving the rest in my truck, trudging 3/4 of a mile through snow and mud, only to realize that my 35mm sure would be great to have for this shot, then trudging back to my truck to fetch it. Yeah, I know. Zooms. I have PLENTY of zooms, but my fixed lenses are all much faster than my zooms.
