Using this for a gaming build. The inclusion of a decent heat sink for cooling is great, not more huge metal blocks required for my purposes. Make sure you tweak bios settings to get full speed from your RAM as this processor can handle quite a bit. Easy to overclock with the correct motherboard chip set.

Installed this to replace my previous eight-core processor and benchmarked my PC to a battleboat and a battleship disregarding any graphics card. I use this with the Gigabyte B450M motherboard that it is frequently bought with 16GB DDR Corsair Vengeance 3000MHz and dayum! Is it a beast. Brought my OBS streaming usage (with an Avermedia LGP Pro 2) down to 10-15% cpu usage with that and all the extra overlays and extras, making 1080p 60fps streaming a possibility. I pledge my allegiance to Ryzen.

bought this back in 2018 to replace a i5 2500k rig. Not a big boost in IPC, but multicore is better. Anything that requires the 6 cores is no problem for this processor. it took about 45 minutes to unzip a 20GB file with my 2500k. It took this processor about 3 minutes. Cool. The FPS stayed about the same in games, but I certainly noticed less stutter. Currently using this with a 1080p 144hz display with a GTX 1070, and its just perfect. I dont play the modern stuff, so its easy to reach the 144hz needed for the display. I know that the 3600 or other high core count cpus exist, but if you want something decent for the price, get this.
