AMD Ryzen 5 5600G 6-Core 12-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor with Radeon Graphics

This processor replaced a Ryzen 3400G from a ITX desktop build for my wife a couple years ago. The great thing about AMDs AM4 platform was the potential to upgrade to better processors as they became available. This is 6 core/ 12 thread processor with integrated graphics. You can play games at lower resolution and get away with it. If you have a dedicated video card already, then go with an X variation which has more on board cache. For me as it was going in an existing motherboard (MSI B450i) I was hoping not to have to reinstall a lot of drivers.

The GPU is not for moderate gaming but for my use in business, this is a perfect combination, not needing to purchase a seperate GPU is a gift along with the energy savings.

The first 5600G I received had an issue restarting: I had to RESET (via button) the entire system to force a restart. But with Amazons and AMDs excellent customer service, replacement was simple and the new APU works flawlessly.

Impresionante la potencia de este procesador que se echa a las espaldas cualquier cosa con gran solvencia. En juegos cumple para juegos antiguos o no muy demandantes y es una verdadera criada para todo con un precio muy competitivo, además, viene con su ventilador que es su principal defecto: en condiciones normales se basta y se sobra. Cuando llevas al procesador al 100% durante demasiado tiempo (mas de 10 minutos) va muy justito y empieza a bajar ligeramente el rendimiento. Esto solo pasa en test específicos que lo exprimen tan continuamente, en la vida normal es mucho mas raro llevarlo a tan nivel de exigencia.

Only been using it a few days now but its handling everything well while Im waiting on a real gpu. YouTube videos look great. Light gaming. WoW runs pretty ok, WZ runs like youre on an old tube TV though lol

Package box had NO packing, processor was directly on side of beat up box tapped like a child packed it. Invoice was taped on outside box w/ Contents showing for everyone to know what it was. Not a lot of money but cant just buy everything I want right now, every dollar matters. The 5600G is great for a budget build and can buy a graphics card down the road. 2nd one I bought. I built the boy (my son), a game/emulation SFM that runs all the goodies (MAME and older, PSP, up to PS2, Saturn & Gamecube ) easily. We have ALL the roms from MS-DOS to PS2, Saturn & Gamecube.. Have yet to push w/ these so on to collecting PS3, Wii, Xbox one and beyond. Runs some other Windows game we tried w/ a few tweeks GREAT !! RAM speed is your friend w/o a graphics card. Fast SATA drive for Application and HD drive for rom storage. Now on to collecting more ROMS !!!
