AMD Ryzen 7 3800X 8-Core, 16-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor with Wraith Prism LED Cooler

Great CPU. Only problem Ive had with it came from the motherboard Im using (as expected). If you have a ROG Strix b450-f, just make sure to get that fan going. The MoBo CPU 4pin connector will not recognize your fan until after a BIOS update. The work around for me was to plug into the CHA Fan -1 until I could boot Windows and download the newest BIOS from ASUS. I threw that on a flash drive and then used the Flash Utility found in the BIOS to upgrade from there. After that, the CPU fan header worked just fine. Just a little caveat emptor.

This thing is a BEAST! I used this in my build and with it properly overclocked it rivals the Intel i9, the extra cores makes everything run so much smoother! If you have the money... GET IT!

The performance initially on this cpu is amazing, but my first one failed very fast. I havent done any OCing and I have a big noctua cooler on them and they arent overheating. The first CPUs memory control module failed I believe as suddenly it wouldnt even attempt to post and wouldnt recognize any memory. The second one has degraded I believe as the benchmark performance has continued to drop. its not surprising because these things even at stock settings volt themselves extremely. Ill be replacing mine with an Intel which is what Ive used for about 15 years now. The performance and specs on the AMD is impressive but Im not going to risk being stuck with one thats going to fail prematurely.

My 15 year old opened the box on Christmas Day only to find there was no processor and no installation instructions in the box. Only the cooling unit was supplied. On inspecting the box, it looks like it had been tampered with.

Seems to work great so far. Super fast. I have it paired with an MSI X570 board and a H150i Corsair cooler.

So happy to be apart of the Red team with the amazing stuff theyre doing these days. I had intel for several years in my previous gaming PC and it was good but intel is doing shady things and I just dont want to support them. This is a huge upgrade and should make this easily a 10 year PC. As far as value, normally the 3700x is by far a better deal, but I was able to snag this for an insanely low price on black friday for essentially the same price as the 3700x.

Got this over the 3700x as it was on sale for cheaper than the 3700x.

Easy to install, stock cooler works fantastic, and proves to be an excellent choice for any mid to high end pc build
