Good easy software to start with..

sorry but it is a dud for me. Person it was purchase for does not like it, does not use it.

I should give this program 4 stars because it isnt rally intuitive to use. If you are used to the workflow of a typical drawing program (ie Corel, Adobe, or even AutoCAD), then this will be a bit confusing at first. However, they do have a nice (written not video unfortunately) tutor on using the product, and I have to tell you that I am impressed with it. It is actually very powerful and can do some neat things. Below you will find a link to a YouTube video I did using this program (and a couple of others). In this software I drew the character and animated its mouth to the vocal track using that built-in feature. After adjusting my audio in Audacity to tone down some of the peaks in the audio, it worked great. I still dont know all there is to know about the program, but it is very powerful, especially for the Debut version. I would find it hard to justify buying the newer and more expensive Pro version 10 at $200 for how little I need animation in the things I do (I am NOT a professional animator nor am I very good at drawing cartoons...I am an Electrical Engineer goofing off on YouTube). I paid less than $10 for it and I would have bought Debut 10 at its typical price had I known if the program was actually this cool (although again, awkward to use for someone experienced with graphic design software like myself). Their built-in help system is a joke (non-existent by & large), buy thats what YouTube is for these days!. Anyway, check out my video of this and enjoy (details below)! I got this for my 11 year old son to bring his drawings to life. It is not easy or user friendly. Im sure it will do what we want but figuring it out is taking a long time. If you have patience and have the time to read and figure it out then I think you will like it but I was hoping it would be a bit easier to get going.

Bought it for my niece. She said it is a little hard to use but likes it.

I bought this for my wife since she attends the Art Institute, I know she wants to learn how to create manga and anime so I bought her this as well as the manga studio. She loves it! Smith Micro has all of the software to help people like my lady out to become a wonderful creator. Oh and let me not forget to mention how fast it came. I bought it on a Sunday, 21, 2014 and I got it Tuesday,23,2014. The expected date was a the 26th so Im happy she got it before Christmas.

This was a great suggestion by Amazon based on previous purchases - better yet, it was a lightning buy! The suggestions made by amazon of what to purchase with this product to make it most effective created the perfect gift bundle for Christmas. Thanks!

Not overly complicated which is nice for non-technos like myself. As a result, making the first simple animation from scratch doesnt take long. For now Im just getting more familiar with the tools and features so I can start producing the animations I want.
