Appion MH120006EAK 1/2 Diameter Hose, 3/8 FL to 1/4 FL Vacuum Certified Refrigerant Hose, 6, Black

This is a great hose for use on large tonnage equipment. I do commercial HVAC and have had great success with rapid pull downs using these hoses, appion core removal tool, and a direct connection to an 8cfm vacuum pump. On smaller tonnage systems(5-7 tons) I will stick with a standard manifold setup since I feel I’d pull a vacuum below 500 within less time than setting up these hoses would take. It is a thick hose though and you need to be careful not to damage/break access ports when using it.

This hose, i use two for systems, makes evacuation the shortest part of the day. It now takes 3-10 minutes, used to take 1/2-4 hrs, to pull a system to sub 300 micron level and hold. Best investment I’ve made and I’ve been doing this for 15yrs.

They are stiff but if you screw it to your core removers first then the stiffness is not an issue. They can be big and bulky and unpractical if youre working on a condensing unit in a small area. Theyre not really a game changer in my opinion. Theyre nice for big equipment RTUs, chillers. But for smaller stuff you waste a lot of time just setting these big hoses up. However they do pull a fast vacuum to 500 microns. With that being said, Ill keep them in my tool arsenal. In tight areas or residential units, Ill just a 4 port manifold with a micron gauge.

but slightly overpriced. The hose made of very strong rubber, keep that in mind.

Amazing. Two of these hoses plud two core tools, pulled a vacuum down to 500 microns on a recovery tank in 3 minutes. Tried it again with a 4-port manifold, it took me 20 minutes. So yeah, money well spent.
