I would not recommend this for doing heavy travel but for going to a friends house or some casual weekend trip its great... anything more and I would be using a caselogic or pelican case something like that

The new cases designed for the Gen 4 was sold out so I took a chance on this one designed for the older models. It works! It may not have a specifically molded place for the base, but the case does hold the base where the older model would fit.

Very durable case, I fly a lot and carry gaming equipment laptop etc. My a50s are my babies. Case fits perfectly in my oakley kitchen sink backpack
