Second day of the SECOND computer. Returned the first computer (Lenovo) due to set-up issues. THIS one has problems with freezes and a disappearing curser. Im down 1600 bucks and still no computer working.

No problems with charging, etc. But the desktop screen is renewing itself even though no refresh is intended.

I have found that this system is mainly for web, and small type of work. It has very limited option to upgrade, the way the memory is used is different from standard units. My model has 16gm Ram but only 9gb usable as RAM the other is for virtual memory, with a pagefile size of less than 3GB. The RAM is soldered! No upgrade, period. It is using some of the ram as virtual. Which somehow gives some fast operation. I replaced de 500GB M.2 for a 1TB. It can use up to 2TB. that is the only upgrade that can be installed. From Windows 11 system info I get the following related to memory usage and configuration. Also RAM memory is shared with the video display.

I held out a long time before landing on this laptop--kept bouncing between HP and Dell models until this showed up quite unexpectedly and then got snatched up quickly. I jumped on it at a very attractive price for the infrastructure I wanted that this had: latest I7 chip, 16 GB RAM, 512 SSD. Plus I wanted as many USB ports as possible along with a Thunderbolt port; never could find an HP (my previous laptops brand) or Dell with the right mix. A really nice plus is the function key that can deactivate the touch pad--I use a mouse and sometimes accidentally hitting the touch pad can be a problem. Finally, I liked the Indie Black color. Im not a gamer so cant comment on how this model handles those requirements.

ASUS VivoBook, a perennial favorite, is getting a new, bolder look that’s sure to get pulses racing. The slim and lightweight VivoBook S15 now features an 11th Generation Intel Processor, diamond-cut edges and a textured finish, and is available in four distinct colors that have been chosen to reflect your personality. The positive vibes continue when you open the lid, where you’re greeted by an Enter key with color-blocking edges. VivoBook S15 brings out the true you, both inside and out. *The actual transfer speed of USB 3.0, 3.1, 3.2 (Gen 1 and 2), and/or Type-C will vary depending on many factors including the processing speed of the host device, file attributes and other factors related to system configuration and your operating environment.
