For my needs, clean out 6 rusted threads to mount a tow hitch, it worked. Would it work the way a professional machinist would want, I dont know.

I ordered this in the evening after discovering I needed to tap out two bolt holes. It was here the next morning and worked well on the two bolt holes I rethreaded. The only thing negative is that the manufacture does not stamp the size (M14x2.0) on the side of the tap.

I purchased this after reading reviews for my trailer hitch, many people highly recommend getting this tap to clear out the threads of the factory welded bolts. I used this on a 2014 GMC Terrain and it saved me so much time! I had minimal rust on my threads but the bolts for the hitch would still not go in before using this tap to clean the threads. If you’re considering installing your own trailer hitch, I would highly recommend this tap to help you have a successful and less stressful installation. This tap feels very high quality and the price is great for one-off jobs like this!
