tl;dr: solid projector for the under $100 price point! I appreciate the chance to review this projector. Overall, Im very impressed with what all they have packed into such a small package. I have a few areas Id love to see improved. This is the first projector Ive gotten new. Over the years, I have owned a number of surplus projectors, typically taken out of service from a school. Most of them were thousands new, so that is my frame of reference. The Azeus unit is a different beast. For one, it is at least a third smaller in any dimension than the projectors I am used to and has better resolution than many. I like that it is 16:9 instead of the 4:3 of the classic units. I am also appreciating the additional inputs besides just VGA and composite video. That second HDMI input is a bonus! The first tests were just on the gray wall in the dining room. With the normal room lights, the image was very visible and looked good -- even when I had it throwing an image that was about 10 feet wide. My wife thought it had a bit of a blue tint, but we resolved that with the warm video setting (and changing what video I was displaying). I did notice that while there is a keystoning adjustment, if you go to extremes, the top and/or bottom edges got a bit blurry. Aside from that, I turned off the lights to test with an Avengers movie and I totally forgot it was a tiny projector that was filling the wall. An unexpected feature is the ability to play videos directly from a USB key plugged into the projector -- no computer needed. I tested a few USB keys and had several files in various formats play just fine, one play with no audio, and one USB key that the projector just never recognized as being plugged in. Besides finding that one video file where it wouldnt play the audio, the built-in speaker was decent. It was comparable to when I plugged in a small set of computer speakers. I havent hooked up my surround sound speakers with sub, but I have no reason to doubt it will just add to the experience. One of the big draws for me was getting the HDMI input so I could do quick presentations without all the adapters Id been fighting with to run my older projector/s with only a VGA input. Have had no issues with the HDMI being recognized and just working. I also tested with a Raspberry Pi and Intel Compute Stick with no video compatibility issues. If youre hoping to power the Pi or Compute Stick off the projectors USB port/s, it will work for at least some of the units. My Pi2 worked just fine being powered off the USB port. The Compute Stick worked until it hit a certain point in the boot-up process, then reset itself -- Im sure from brown-outing when it couldnt pull enough power from that USB port. I havent checked a Pi3 and wouldnt expect it to power a Pi4. Pros: - 720p native resolution -> 16:9 widescreen - small size - reasonable brightness, more than sufficient with the room lights dimmed - plenty of inputs (2 HDMI, VGA, composite via adapter cord) - 2 USB ports for power and/or data - can play media straight off your USB storage device without a computer (it even gives the option to resume playing a video where you last left off!) - the price is almost unbelievable for what youre getting -- all this under $100?! Yes, please. Cons: - cooling fan sounds fairly loud when youre getting things set up even though it wasnt noticeable once I started watching a movie - the power LED was bright enough to shine a spot on the ceiling during my testing and is bright enough it could be distracting when the unit is mounted upside down on the ceiling - physical keystone adjustment blurred top/bottom of image when adjusted to the extremes - media player interface was a bit awkward, but that is probably a function of having to be able to navigate it with the little IR remote. None of the issues are deal breakers for me, they are just little annoyances. Overall, very pleased with this unit and may have already inspired folks at school to get one for themselves.

Really good projector! This was a cinch to get going,I used the SUPPLIED (bonus points there, seems like rarely do they supply any, much less a decent quality one) HDMI cord to connect my laptop. 2 minor gripes... They supplied hdmi cable but skimped on batteries for the remote? LoL 2ndly the quick start guide missed a key step in demonstrating which button to push to toggle thru the connection options.. They show a picture of the differing options but missed pointing out which button to push, so it took some guesswork. Maybe I need to try different viewing distances, but I set this up in my boys room so it was only approx 10 ft from projector to the wall... But I felt the focus was coarse... Turning the knob from out of focus to in focus and back out of focus was a short overall distance.I felt I achieved focus but youd have to make pretty minute movements to adjust more finely. Similarly, its a good thing they have keystone adjustment, but that also felt like there was limited travel thru the adjustment.luckily I didnt need to adjust keystone so it wasnt an issue.and again, focus and keystone could be achieved,I just feel that both could benefit from a more finely geared mechanism.. You probably dont plan on exclusively using it for the audio, and in reality I think some projectors dont even have speaker, so theres that, but its a pretty small speaker and is mono..(only one on right side) .but really, for this price, you cant complain. I think its plenty bright, especially compared to several other more high end models. Keep up the great work!

I purchased this projector to project my Netflix Movies or Youtube videos on the wall in front of my treadmill. After receiving it, I plugged my Amazon 4K fire stick to the projector by using one of HDMI ports and watched two episodes of Hell on Wheels. Considering its affordable low price, I am very surprised with its sharp and clear image the little projector created (make sure to turn off all of the lights and get the room very dark when you use this projector). But to be honest, I dont expect it to have the same image quality as some name brands expensive projector like Epson Home Cinema (considering only 1/10 of its price) . The built-in speaker is a very good feature. It played very loud sounds, I think I dont even need to have an external speaker at all. This projector is small and light-weight, its only slightly larger than a regular book. Wish it comes with a carry bag so that I could carry it anywhere. The projector does come with many accessories including a remote, a HDMI cable, and an AV cable. However, it does not come with a lens cap (the lens is very easy to clean any way if it gets dirty). The projector does have a good heat dissipation feature, its body was just felt a bit warm after using for about two hours, but the fan did create some noise particularly if you dont play any audio sounds. I plan to purchase an iphone HDMI adapter so that I could plug my phone or ipad to the projector and play my favorite music or videos when I am running on my treadmill. Overall, I think this projector has good quality with low price.

This is my second go at sub $100 projector. I based my choices on the reviews and the product description in the listing. So based on the description, this is the best thing since sliced bread. That is bs and I knew that by that time. However, I have decided to trust a fellow customer and watched the video review. My mistake, I should not have trusted that. This projector is noticeably better than some others offered at the similar price, but it is still quite unacceptable. So it is ready to go back. Return process has began. But here is a couple of impressions. First, I was using it with an actual 100 projection screen. I have an old Life is Good portable projector so I know that I can get an awesome quality image from that on this screen. Now to this AZEUS RD-822. Do not listen to that Video review, that guy is specifically said that the image is not blurry around the corners and that is a bogus. Granted the image is sharper around the corners comparing to some other cheap projectors, but it is certainly still out of focus and can not be corrected. It gets even worse if you use the keystone adjustment. So the image is focused in the middle, but obviously out of focus in the corners. This renders the projector unacceptable for presentations that have text, especially smaller text that extends in the corners. Like it can not be used at all for spreadsheet presentation. Second complaint is the color. The color is horrible, took me 20 minutes tinkering with the brightness/contrast/tint/sharpness tinkering, before it was somewhat ok, but the color still was into blue and impossible to get vibrant green out of it. Brightness and contrast has to be tinkered with as the projector shows clear signs of overdriven image. Sharpness adjustment is has to be taken down as that just emphasizes noise in the video. Basically it looks like they overdriven everything so the image brighter, but image gets these overexposed characteristics and is not pleasant to look at. Noise from the fan... This is pretty loud. It might be quieter than some other $60 projectors, but showing a picture of sleeping baby next to this projector is a travesty. The speaker sound however is not too bad, not exactly HiFi as they claim, but pretty good for a movie night. I want also to note that the claim of 5000+ lumens brightness is a BS as well. Yes, it is somewhat brighter than my 11 years old, Life is Good projector, but that projector is rated at 200 lumens... Anyway, rule of thumb, do not buy a projector that has mechanical keystone adjustment. That simply means that you will not have consistent focus across the screen and the corners will be out of focus. Also, the LCD technology on these cheap projectors is basically a garbage and you will get poor contrast ration and these weird colorations, like a blue haze over the entire image. And these are very noisy with fans. Bottom line is that projector is pretty bad for something like home theater. It is bad for movies, it is bad for gaming, and unacceptable for presentations. The only thing it is acceptable for is to use it for some outdoor movie nights where the image quality is obviously pretty far down the priority line, after the family laughter, pizza, popcorn, and having good time with your family/friends. II am giving it 2 stars because it is noticeably better than other similar projector I have tried. But the stars count has to be low, as for the amount of claims in the description. All that is basically garbage and has to be taken with a pound of salt.

I am happy with the purchase so far. Whats good? 1 - The picture looks brighter than similar models, I tried a few models before this one! it is vivid, and clear even when the room is not completely dark. 2 - Inputs are versatile, two HDMI ports make it even better for me. The remote has all keys and options you will need. Whats bad? 1- The keystone adjustment is not digital and always leaves corners, top or bottom annoyingly blurry. Like other projectors in this class, you should place it EXACTLY level and perpendicular to the screen if you wish to get your best picture quality. 2 - The projector does not support any kind of mount, no tripod hole, very disappointing. 3 - the cooling fan inside is louder than what I expected. 4 - No Wifi/Bluetooth, though they are not expected at this price.

This projector has a great picture, despite the price. First night, I propped it up on the bed between my wife and I, and we watch a movie on the ceiling in 1080p. Sound is pretty good too, but you can hook a sound bar up to it for better sound. Only 4 stars because it does not hook up to my Pixel 3xl even though I bought the USB C to HDMI cable. Purchase came with a free 100 projector screen by mail, so we will see if they just send me a sheet. With all of the options out there for mini projectors, this was a great first choice. Maybe in a few years I will step my game up for one of the high priced ones. Update on April 14th, 2020. I was going to bump this up to a 5 start rating because it has proven to be an awesome purchase. The picture quality is way over expectations and the sound is just as good. I am eager to hook this up into a theater setting. But I am still disappointed that I cant just hook my phone up to it and play Hulu, Disney+, or Netflix from my phone instead of humping around a laptop.

I wish it had more ability to tilt the screen to the correct angle, and I think buying a ceiling mount or tripod for it would be a wise addition to this little unit, especially for the capabilities of adjusting the angle/screen to fit the wall or space you wish to project your image. My unit had a bulb that only lasted seven months, but after figuring out how to contact the company, they quickly processed a replacement to be sent out. This is the only projector I have bought for home use, my only other experiences being in the office or classroom in a professional setting. A lot of the reviews mention only being able to use this well in dim lighting/dark settings and I find that to be very accurate, despite the advertised brightness of the image. Keeping those drawbacks in mind, it is an affordable little machine my family has enjoyed very much and I would purchase this over another TV in a heartbeat. We still own a few TVs and prefer the projector for the large screen. I personally have not tried to use it outside with a pull down screen like you would see utilized in a professional setting, although other reviews say it works well in those settings. I am able to project streamed videos using a fire stick or Roku onto a white/cream based wall in an apartment setting. Do to space constrictions, it is by a window in my living room, but it is easier to view in the darker setting of my bedroom on a similar wall with less natural light. It looked much brighter that way. It still is visible enough here, but I wouldn’t recommend it for optimal use. We have used books and small objects to prop it to the angle desired, atop small shelves perched on the top of a bookcase/dresser depending on the room. Another review mentions adjusting a screw to achieve similar results; It’s a large black nine-tipped star on the bottom of the unit. With a slightly curved surface. The unit itself rests on four black soft, flat-nubbed feet. If you can purchase a stand, I would purchase one with multiple height options or go for the adjustable mounts/tripods instead. We use the HDMI outputs for our use, but there are other connectivity options. There does not appear to be an easy way to change the bulb when it does go out, or a simple way to clean it other than wiping it down. I would get a can of air to get the dust out if the manual permits, but the opening to view the filter is quite small. Although the shell is easy to wipe down, finding a way to get the dust out is not. There is a newer edition out now than the one I purchased, I believe, and would look into that before repurchasing this exact unit, but overall do not regret this projector for an affordable <$100 option. Go to the Azeus manufacturer website and register with their warranty; as it is a three-year policy that outlasted my Amazon support.

First of all, this projector is super cheap compared to other projectors with the same specs. I decided to give it a try and see how it performed. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the picture! The projector is ready to use right out of the box, just plug and play. The image is very clear and sharp. I do not have a projector screen. I was running it on a white wall, so if you have a projector screen then it will be even better quality for you. As far as the brightness goes, It is great in a dark room! The color is great even when it is set up to over 100in screen. The color is still pretty good in a room with some ambient light, as long as it isnt in direct sunlight. It is better than most of the other small brands and cheaper projectors I have used in the past. The company offers a 1 year warranty and has great customer service that is quick and helpful! Amazon also offers a longer 3 year warranty for purchase with the projector if you wish. This projector may cost very little as far as projectors go, but it definitely performs well above its price point!! I would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a new projector for their office, game room, or to watch movies on.
