The color is better described as light grey. They are definitely not white. The connectors they come with are white, however.

Just what its supposed to be. I do prefer the one length of chain and the batch of joints (as opposed to a pack of pre-cut extensions) so that I can choose how many of which lengths I need. Of course its a simple item that did the job perfectly--no more grabbing tools to turn the fans and lights on...
