When the skin on my face started reacting negatively to a ton of different products, I decided to switch from Basis soap to this gentler and easier to rinse off face wash. It has made all the difference! It does contain sulfates and silicones, though, two ingredients I wish Basis would remove. Still, despite my sensitivity to dimethicone (silicone), I dont have a reaction to this gel, probably because I rinse it off so quickly and thoroughly. Im waiting for the day, however, when I can no longer use it, and it will be a sad day indeed. My face always feels fresh and not-too-dry after using it. I considered giving this five-stars because I use it everyday and keep ordering it; however, the presence of dimethicone worries me. Yup, good face wash. I was one of those people that thought I was battling acne since my teen years. As it turns out, I dont have acne, I have sensitive skin--when I started treating it like sensitive skin, this amazing thing happened: it stopped rebelling against me! Current regimen: Wear long hair up or with a headband most days. Make sure to wash/rinse skin immediately after any exercise. Use exfoliating sponge daily. Wash with Basis in the AM Use Witch Hazel as a toner (Thayers) Use Fruit of the Earth Aloe as a moisturizer Thats it! Im now confidently make-up free most days :) I hope this helps someone that is struggling with their acne prone sensitive skin while reading reviews...

There are a lot of facial cleansers out there that are fine, but many cost a lot more than this, with dubiously valuable ingredients. Truth is, facial cleansers only stay on your face for a very short time, so any additives hardly have a chance to have any effect! When you need is something to remove excess oil without drying out the skin. This stuff is perfect for that. Basis is a very trusted brand. As a physician, I have long recommend Basis brand products to patients who needed simple, gentle cleaning without extra potential irritants and allergens. It smells pleasant without being perfumy. It washes off quickly and cleanly without drying the face. Its my go-to facial cleanser for everyday, and I put some into a mini-size, sealable container for when I travel. Very economical, especially in the three-pack. No drawbacks or hesitations. Highly recommended!
