I have been very interested in fred bear and his way to bowhunt ever since I started bowhunting 40 + years ago. as far as I am concerned this dvd series of bear archery is the greatest of all the hunting videos I have collected over the years, very interesting collection, thank you fred bear, and thank you for watching down over bear archery, RIP, thank you!

This is a awesome DVD set of the father of bow hunting. Traditional Bowhunters will find this set especially appealing and enjoyable of days gone bye when everybody hunted with a long bow or a recurve. Traditional Archery is on the rise for many again and many folks like myself are even buying, collecting and/or hunting with these original Bear Archery recurve and long bows today. Its great fun using the KISS principle of a simple set up, virtually nothing to go wrong with a bow sure of breaking the bow and a half or breaking a string which is easily replaced in mInutes. These movies are educationsl, enjoyable to watch and motivate you to emulate Fred Pappa Bear - a great man that devoted his life to archery and bowhunting that we know today.

What an unbelievable deal. All of the old vintage Fred Bear movies all included in one DVD set. I had many of these old individual movies on VHS tapes, but they have deteriorated over the years and most are unwatchable now with either the sound or picture disappearing. So when I saw this DVD set, I had to buy it. I dont believe these were digitally remastered in any way. The picture and sound quality looks just like the old film movies, but that is OK with me, it has kept the old vintage feel to these treasures. They are definitely a step back in time quality wise, but thats what makes them so cool. When I think of archery and bow hunting, I automatically think of Fred Bear. I remember as a very small boy watching some of the old Fred Bear movies on TV, I believe they were on Curt Gowdy and Grits Greshams The American Sportsman show. There was even an episode with Fess Parker, the old Disney Daniel Boone character hunting grizzly bear with Fred. When I started to play these old movies, it catapulted me back to a simpler time in life. Fred Bear was responsible for instilling in me the love of traditional archery, hunting, conservation and sportsmanship. I have been shooting traditional archery for 43 years because of Fred Bear. I highly recommend this DVD set. Thank you for the memories Fred Bear.

very fun to see how they did it back in the older days not with a compound bow it will make you want to shoot a recurve bow

I love it. I saw a number of these videos growing up (dates them and me). Fred Bear was such a tremendous sportsman and exquisite archer/hunter that inspired several generations of bowmen. It would be great if these could be digitized.

I would give this 5 stars if it played well on my TV home entertainment system. It skips around though so I have to view it on my computer instead. If you like the days of Fred Bear or are interested in his hunting and archery adventures then this is for you. Very exciting hunts including Fred stalking to within 30 yards of a Grizzly before sending an arrow home. Icludes interviews with Fred about the history of archery and a documentary of Bear Archery in the Grayling days. Videos are grainy old time movie quality because that was all the equipment of the day was capable of producing. Fred Bear truly was the father of modern archery and the modern hunting show. Eight hours of really good stuff.
