> 24 hourHas all the bells and whistles to run Multi Z axis and multi extruder 3D printers. Worked great using Marlin loaded directly on the MCU. However, if you want to run a Raspberry Pi directly from the 5 volt power from the pins dedicated for this function. It may not run. The Pi reported back that the voltage dropped to 4.65v which is not enough to run a Pi. Wanted to run Klipper without having to have another power supply for the Pi. Note also that the 12V buss runs low also. 11.85 volts.

> 24 hourI have installed and used several bigtreetech motherboards and this one is just as good or even better than any of them. I like the SKR, but this one I love. if you have the space for the larger size than go with this Octopus board.

> 24 hourI bought this for my Mendelmax build that Ive been working on. The title says Octopus v1.1 but for some reason I received an Octopus v1.0. Whatever. I finally got around to wiring it up and trying it out. BigTree has firmware on github for Marlin, Klipper, and RepRapFW. I tried Marlin first. Got it communicating, but the endstops were not working. I finally gave up on Marlin and switched to RepRapFW. Got it working after lots of fiddling. I purchased the WiFi module to go with it, but when the WiFi module is installed, the board wont boot. Still trying to understand why. I managed to get RepRapFW working and doing what I need it to, although I still have some tuning to do before I get decent prints. Im not familiar with Klipper, so I havent tried it yet. Bottom line- this board is for advanced users. If you are not comfortable figuring out wiring and poking around the source code, you should stay away because the support from BigTree is non-existent. There is a user manual with some sparse details. Best thing about this board is that they provide the schematic, so at least I can figure stuff out myself. Ive been to their web site and tried to ask questions on their forum but I cannot register. Their generic wordpress forum complains that its not configured to send email properly, which means my account cannot be verified, and I have never managed to post a question on their forum because of this. I tried to let them know through another email address on their site intended for warranty and refund but I still got no response. Looks like if you buy this, you are pretty much on your own. BigTreeTech- if you are out there, please at least fix your forum registration process so I can maybe connect with other users and we can help each other solve our own problems!

> 24 hourThe board overall is well made and the connections are robust. I chose this board to update one of my printers to dual z axis and dual extrusion. Could have gone with SKR Pro, but I liked the fact I could set the voltages for various components like fans and inductive sensors. I have a mix of12 and 24 volt fans running, with no extra hardware to modify voltage. Setup info Isa little.scarce but if you Google.BTT octopus setup you should find a guide. Even Wifi was easy to setup. You simply had to drop the firmware file on the SD card labeling the wifi firmware esp3d.bin the bootloader does the rest. Very critical you name the firmware files appropriately. Would hate to flash the wrong firmware on the wrong board. Overall working well and happy with my purchase.
