BIOSILK Silk Therapy Original Cure, 12 Oz

Wow! I didn’t expect to have such a small amount of product make such a big difference. The product is not oily and it takes just a small amount to get softness and a nice shine to my hair. I use it before I blow dry and after I have curled or flat ironed my hair. I have very coarse hair. But the bio silk makes its soft and manageable.

I had used this product in the past and got it from my previous hairdresser. For years I didnt use it and then decided I should try it on my gray hair. It makes my hair so soft and manageable that Im amazed. It is a wonderful therapy for your hair and I will continue to use it. Im going to let my present hairdresser know what a great product it is.

Smells so good and works great. You don’t need a lot. I also use it when my hands are super chapped in the winter from the weather. This is the only hair product I’ll ever use, going forward.

I love BioSilk, I have been using it since I was a kid and it is just one of my favorite and always go to products! The scent is soft and just marvelous and it makes your hair soft and silky without making it look or feel oily. As someone who washes daily due to excessive sebum production this stuff makes up for the daily washing. Keeps my hair soft and shiny everyone is shocked to hear my hair gets washed daily. Oh and you can use it on your body too! It absorbs quickly and leaves you with a marvelous fragrance. A little goes a long way, it will last you a long time. The last time I purchased the 3 pack was years ago and I actually gave one away and had not run out until just recently. The price is definitely a deal; one bottle usually goes for around $35-40 so getting 3 for $60 is an amazing deal! This is a must buy!

This is hands down the best leave-in treatment on the market and has been for many years. Even since I was a teenager my hair would grow to about 6-8in past my shoulders and start splitting all over, forcing me to cut it, and no fancy product seemed to help. Then back in 2003 I worked as a hair product consultant/salesgirl in this giant Beauty Supply store which carried more hair brands that you ever knew existed. People gasped when they would walk in. I learned a lot about hair there and got to try a huge number of products, including Biosilk Serum which I have been using since then. It prevents split ends, dentangles my fine hair without leaving it greasy or weighted down, and leaves it silky smooth and soft. People always ask me what Im using when they touch my hair. Over the decade that I have been using this, I have occasionally tried other similar silicone-based serums, from Biolage to Chi to Paul Mitchell to KMS to RUSS and many others I cant even remember now. And nothing, absolutely nothing comes close to Biosilk!!! Ive ran out a few times and stopped using it and before long the hair gets dry, splitends-y, and a horrible tangled mess. Here is a trick on using it that has served me well. After washing your hair, towel dry slightly (its ok if its still a bit drippy even), then bend over and flip your hair over. This step is CRUCIAL because you want this ONLY on the bottom half of your hair, and nowhere near the roots. Then pour the product into your palm - abt the size of a nickel for short hair and the size of a quarter for long hair. Do not use more than 2 quarters even if you have very thick long hair, trust me. A little goes a long long long way. Once you pour out the proper amount rub your palms together to spread the product. Its going to feel greasy and gross but fear not. Next start scrunching the tips of your hair and rubbing the stands between your palms to distribute the product. Do not put product on upper portions of your hair and nowhere near your scalp! Rub only through the lower half and especially the ends. Voila. Once your hair dries it will be silky and detangled. And what to do with those greasy palms? Just rub over your elbows or any other rough skin - it is an excellent skin moisturizer as well! While the bottle says you can use on dry hair I have had little success with that -- it does not spread well and it does give you a greasy feeling. I only use it when I wash my hair. DEFINITELY use before any heat tools - blow dry, curling, or flat iron. But beware! All silicon products seal the hair cuticle so anything you apply afterwards will be much less effective, including mousse, hair spray and other styling products.

Im a guy reviewing this product. My hair is a bit past my shoulders currently, has been bleached 4 times to get my hair to white/silver, and now its been dyed red red. My hair is thick and mostly straight, but can get wavy when longer. My hair has had, for the entirety of my life, the texture and sensation similar to hay—dry, fizzy, etc. I dont tend to wash it often, but I try to keep it conditioned at least twice a week. The description is just showcase that I have medium length hair that is damaged, has been chemically treated, and has not actually been in the best shape most of its life. I only mention being a guy to let the reader know that similar to other guys, I dont take care of my hair and am not using any other hair products with Biosilk (except a brush and blowdryer). Biosilk is truly a life saver. My hair has not felt this silky soft... ever. I thought my hair was always supposed to feel like natural horse hair. What I do is simply blow dry my hair, using a brush to straighten my hair, and once my hair feels about half to 2/3rds dry, I apply a small amount of Biosilk (Id say a dab about the size of a nickel, which emulsify in my palms) throughout my hair, if its not enough, Ill add another dab and then finish blowdrying. I can now run my fingers through my hair, put it up in a bun, or under a hat. Before Biosilk, once I released the bun, my hair would stay frozen in place; if I removed my hat it would be stiff and brittle; if I ran my fingers through it, my hair would puff up. Now, once released, the hair falls comfortably over my shoulders. I use this product about once a week (at the beginning of the week) and it last pretty long without having to add additional product. Please be aware, I havent tried many other products to smoothen my hair, but I have tried 2 types of hair masks, several conditioners, argan oil (which I like a lot, but is a bit too oily), and moroccan oil—I do not use this product in conjunction with other products, such as gel, moose, or spray. I recommend this if you have had trouble getting soft smooth hair.
