Pull up a YouTube video and learn how to fix your SpotBot before throwing it away. I have a SpotBot Pet that is easily near 10 years old. The original hose became rigid and brittle. When the metal coil inside the hose finally poked through the end, it was clearly time to toss the unit. Or was it..? A brand new SpotBot Pet is around $200, so I thought twice and researched how to fix it. This $18 hose was so quick and easy to replace the original. You just need a screwdriver and 15 minutes. This does not come with the suction head brush/tool, so dont throw away your old one if its still good. The unit works like new, and I honestly only use the hose. The spinning Spot tool is gross and actually not a great way to clean up pet accidents. It just seems to evenly distribute it in a 12 circle. Try cleaning pet urine with that spinning disc and then put a blacklight on it—you will never want to step on that area again. Im so glad I did this easy repair and feel empowered to find more DIY fixes around the house!

Ive been through a number of the Pet Spot Bots over the years. If you own kids, dogs and cats you know this gets pretty heavy use. Im currently on Spot Bot #3. What always gives out is the hose, it tends to develop a hole either up by the handle or down by the connection to the unit. This of course is is you use the hand attachment a lot like we do. After using the auto clean feature, I like to use the wand to suck up the excess water the auto setting misses. The carpet dries a lot quicker if you do. The install of the new hose is pretty simple. Ive added some photos to help you out. You will need a Phillips screw driver to remove 4 screws to take the top off. After the screws are off the top lifts up but be careful there is a ribbon cable attached to the control panel. I just unplugged it and set the top aside. Next, with some pliers or similar, pinch the spring clamp from the small hose and slide it up the hose. Pull the small hose off the fitting. I found this to be the tricky part, its on there pretty good. I ended up cutting the hose up a few inches and tugging it off with some pliers. (save the little spring clamp you will need to transfer it to the new hose) Next you can lift the large hoses plastic end up a little and tug it out of its holder. Its just pressed in place. Now fit the new part right where the old one was, remember to put the spring clamp on the small hose before fitting it on the barbed connection. Plug the ribbon cable back in and place the top part on and screw it back down. Pretty simple and good as new. A lot cheaper than a whole new unit for about 15 minutes work! See photos they should help (I hope) Edit Update Note: In order to minimize the risk of the new hose getting a hole in the same place, when you wind the hose back up do not wind it on the last tab that holds the hose. Doing that puts a strain on the hose and it will develop a hole again over time. Wind it up like my last photo that will make it so there is no strain on the hose and it will last a lot longer.

As with other reviewers, we found that this hose is just the tiniest bit shorter than it really should be if you want to actually wrap it around the machine as the machine design intends. If you do that, you have to pull the hose very tight which causes you to put quite a bit of stress on one of the connection points resulting in the hose cracking/tearing in a relatively short amount of time. While buying the hose is definitely a cost savings over replacing the machine entirely, it would be nice to get a hose that is the proper fit for the way that the machine is designed. Our solution is to just leave the thing loose instead of wound around the machine but thats not the nicest for storage or use. Ill likely end up using a long velcro strap or something similar in the long run.

The hard plastic piece on the end of my hose on my Spotbot Pet 33N8A broke. I superglued it several times and put duct tape, but it kept coming apart. Finally decided to look online to see if that piece was sold separately. It wasnt, but this whole hose was for a reasonable price so went with it. It worked great and is even a better fit than the original, as it has an extra inch or so in length on the flexible hose portion, making it much easier to wrap and fit in the slot without having to pull on it like I did the original one. Unfortunately, when I got it all put back together, I now have a leak. More reading online, and have decided it is due to a stiff cap on my reservoir tank and nothing to do with this hose. Ironic that it happens now, but whatever. Ive now ordered that, but this hose works well, and bonus it was a color match for my old hose. Comes in a padded envelope with no instructions, which was a bummer, but looked on YouTube, and found a video for how to fix a leaking spotbot for how to take the unit apart. Unfortunately, all the videos I could find on how to replace this hose were for different models of SpotBot than the 33N8A. Bissell does not sell these on their website and I figured I would have to but a whole new one for a simple tear in the line but decided to give this a shot. Someone posted a fantastic video on YouTube showing how to replace this. It was a little tricky and frustrating but I got it done. I dont think the suction is quite as good as it was but I could be wrong and its still worth it to save the money on having to completely replace. I heartily recommend along with the YouTube video from Dollar. Tip: I used a blow dryer to warm the mini hose part to fit it over the part when I replaced it since it was too stiff to push on.

This is the second time I’ve replaced the hose on my 15 year old unit. This time I didn’t find a replacement hose that listed my exact “SpotBot Pet” model #. This one looked the most like mine other than color. It shipped super fast and arrived intact. During installation I found several differences that could be deal-breakers for some people. Shorter wand sprayer thing. Shorter hose by 1.5 inches and (See photos) The S-curved connector was the biggest problem for me. The photo I marked up shows a very squared section ( marked in red on my photo). To use it I would have had to Dremel out the round hole (yellow arrow) to be larger & more squared. I opted to swap my correct-fitting S-connector onto the new hose and re-silicone the small water line. The short sprayer and hose makes it impossible to wrap the hose in the original manner. But it will work. Overall I’m satisfied with this product for the low price.

It works, but seems intentionally short. When wrapped around the spotbot in its normal configuration, the hose will split in a year or so. It seems obvious the hose is just a bit too short so the hose *will* split, rather than giving enough length so the hose isnt stressed.

I took a chance in ordering this part for my Bissell SpotBot Model 2117A (blue spotbot, purchased in 2019) because I couldnt explicitly find the correct part for sale except through some warehouse wholesaler. This hose sold on Amazon was about $10 cheaper (and free shipping!). This particular hose is not the same color as the original hose on *my* spotbot, which is probably why the part number doesnt match the one I got from Bissell. If you care about trim matching or being the same as the original then you might want to keep looking. I dont especially care whether the hose of the vacuum I use to clean vomit and coffee spills is the same color as the body of the machine - I only care that the thing fits and doesnt leak. This one meets that criteria. Installation was easy. I referenced a YouTube video some guy made showing how he installed his replacement hose on another, similar, model (the pink and grey/silver model, I believe). The process on my model was the same. Have used the machine a few times since installing the new hose and so far no leaks! Im very happy to have fixed my SpotBot for under $20 and no longer have janky tape plugging a hole.

The day I bought my first Spot Bot the angels sung. Over time, with an incontinent old dog and person, a baby (now teenager) we use/used them all the time. We have spot bot # 3 right now. The hose broke off almost completely -- dry rot (I live in the Mojave Desert and stuff dries out). The only thing holding it on was the water supply tube. I started pricing out a new Spot Bot (cha-ching!) and decided to try to fix it myself. Other than the hose, almost everything else looked fine. (The dirty water tank was gross so I replaced that as well.) I bought the parts here on Amazon because when I shopped around the prices were about the same, considering shipping (I have Prime). Make sure you get OEM parts. There are several YouTube videos that show you how to make the repair. I used the video by Performance Reviews entitled Bissell Spotbot 33N8 Hose Replacement Repair. You need a flat surface, Phillips screwdriver, needlenose pliers, a bottle of 409 and a bunch of paper towels. Might as well do a good clean of the unit if youre going to have it all apart. And I needed to remove dirty water around some of the screws anyway. The new hose works great. Tip: When you have it all torn open and youre trying to squeeze the new tube onto the nipple, dip the end of the tube in some warm water to make it a little more pliable (or chew on it a little in your mouth -- its brand new and clean).

The hose on my SpotBot robot cracked - and tape was only a band aid. Finding the correct PN on Bissels webpage - I came to Amazon and found this replacement part for half the price. Not an simple replacement, but also nothing overly complicated. Especially with the YouTube videos now, it didnt take me more than 10 minutes to swap out on my workbench with all the tools readily available. Bottom line - my Spot Bot works again.
