    Okay--lets get this out there. The infamous PL259/SO259 A.K.A. UHF connector is commonly used for RF connections in ham radio and other communications equipment. However, the dirty little secret is that this is not the best RF connector. Its simplicity is deceiving and it can be difficult to properly connect--especially as it ages. The center conductor works loose and the outer connector doesnt always align and tighten properly. And when its not properly connected, it causes signal loss.
