Got this as a gift for Valentines day. Its absolutely beautiful and exactly what I wanted. But unfortunately for me, 50% of the keys dont function and relay. Will sadly have to try for a replacement. It truly is a beautiful and beautiful sounding keyboard however, just sucks that it didnt work on the first go. But it happens.

This keyboard is very functional and versatile in that I can connect it through the USB dongle, bluetooth, or even wired to my computer. The keys feel very stable are are very responsive. I really like the retro look of the keyboard with the round keys and the multi-colored layout. This is a very comfortable keyboard and mouse to use throughout the day.

Came quickly, looks as expected, packaging was very nice, time will tell how it holds up. The feel and extra switches are nice, only downfall would be the keys sound very hollow. But this can be fixed by swapping or altering keys. Would recommend

This 96 format keyboard is a very nice jump on point for people who want to get involved and learn the ins and outs of a mech keyboard with hot swap. Since most people just getting started into mechanical keyboards might want to continue to keep their numpad, this is a good way to jump into it without losing it. Key Caps:) Double-shot: These are double shot all the way down to the bottoms of the keys, though its a very fine layer for each side, its truly a double-shot. The colors are an interesting combination, though I am not really liking the combination with turquoise on this board, but its decent, maybe a dark grey might have worked a bit better. Also on the bottom of the caps, they seem to have a bit of plastic when they were broken out of the molds still on them. Switches:) Gateron Yellows: These are your basic gamer yellows, for decent quick gameplay, though maybe not the best sounding as far as I have had. But they are great none the less for this type of board in general. Bottom line, this board is easy to break down and upgrade, I did enjoy the format as I have never had a 96 key before. I think its a solid keyboard and a great introduction to this addiction. My Modifications: (Switches) Akko Lavender Purple and Cream Yellow (Numpad) (Keycaps) Mizu Clones For now this is my workboard =) Update: I did try out the switches and keycaps before removing them from the keyboard. I had no issue with the keycaps or gataron yellow switches. I changed them out because of personal preference. Also the fact I think a custom keyboard should fit you, once you know what you like.

Ive never had a keyboard like this before mine have all been higher-end ones nit this one is laid out as I have never seen before. It arrived just fine without any defects that I could see. On getting it out you get the keyboard, a c charging cable (I love that it is USB C charging), four extra switches, two keycap pullers, and a dongle. I really like how they attached the dongle to the USB cord that was a neat trick. To say this is quiet is an understatement I could be typing next to my wife sleeping and she would never know. The one thing that threw me for a loop is that it is missing the end key which is strange as I use that pretty frequently but have found ways around it. Other than that they do jam all the keys together Im used to the bridge above the arrow keys but this does not have that. it does have some neat backlights too but I wish they had made the letter clear as that would have made it more noticeable. All in all, I do like this keyboard (Im using it to write this review, it just takes a bit of getting used to.

I love this keyboard right down to the sound of the keys. I had ordered it for work but it wasnt working out cause I needed it to be a little bigger. I use this now for my laptop. Love that you can change the color, patterns and put in cute keys. I love it. They give you so many additional keys. The battery life is crazy long. I dont have to charge it for a few days but I dont use mine for gaming so it may be different if youre using it constantly. I totally recommend if you like the sound of the clacking keys and want to personalize your keyboard.

Edit: The customer service response was very quick. They are taking care of my problem so I highly recommend a company that works hard to make sure its customers are happy. This is a great keyboard with a really solid construction on the foundation. I love how compact it is for having a full keypad. The problem is I had several bad switches out of the box and even though it came with three extra switches I’ve already use those. So I have no margin for error and I’m concerned what happens the next time the switch goes bad. I don’t have any yellows. So if I replace a switch it’s not going to match. I didn’t go lower because I do have a full function keyboard but I no longer have any margin for error. The next switch that dies I will not have a replacement. I don’t know if this is an issue with the yellow switches or not. But perhaps they need to start including a lot larger number of replacement switches. Perhaps even a full set..

Summary: What an awesome keyboard. For under a $100 this thing offers a lot. Maybe Ive just been out of the mechanical keyboard game for some time, but this seems like a solid offer at $89.99. Feels well built, sounds great, has hotswap switches, keycaps feel good, supports macro jumping between five different computers. Ive used a range of keyboard sizes and unusual layouts like the Vortex POK3R (60%), the Vortex ViBE, the Vortex Race 3, the Contra, and the DZ60. Ive generally been a Vortex exclusivist, but this keyboard offered a layout that Ive not used before, and its really starting to grow on me. The keyboard box arrived shrinkwrapped. Its in a basic white box that has a graphic sleeve over it indicating what keyboard it is. The keyboard is wrapped in a protective plastic covering. The box had a nice title card at the top. Accessories can be found under the divider that the keyboard sits on. I think the packaging and presentation here are quite good and make this keyboard quite giftable; its basically already wrapped. The board feels well constructed. None of the switches or keys are crooked. Despite the plastic case, the board has very little flex, almost none. The branding is subtle with a small logo on the front-right and in the center of the back. The switches felt in good working order and consistent. The keyboard and all keycaps (including legends) were free of blemishes. The layout of this keyboard feels like the union of the Vortex ViBE and the Vortex Race 3. It offers the convenience of a numpad without the mostly unused space between it and the main keys. The dedicated function row is very helpful for working with computers and virtual machines where getting to the BIOS or other boot menus requires the use of the function keys. The Gateron Yellow switches are a nice change from the Cherry MX Browns Ive used for the past decade. Ive tried other switches, but I havent committed to prolonged use of a new switch like I have with the Gateron Yellows in this board. The operating force is just slightly less than the MX Browns, so I found the main difference to just be the lack of tactile feedback. The hotswap switch feature is a game changer for me. The Gateron Yellows may have made me reconsider my daily driver switch, but this keyboard doesnt keep me bound to them. The hotswap capabilities of this board offer a ton of customization. Its easy to try out new switches without the commitment of soldering them to a board. Ill definitely be focusing on hotswap capabilities for future keyboards. The wireless connectivity is a feature Ive taken for granted in the past. Its particularly useful when doing homelab work where I want to quickly move between devices with the keyboard. Its quite easy to switch between connected devices with this keyboard. You press the FN and Z/X/C keys for Bluetooth devices 1/2/3, respectively. You press FN + V for the USB transceiver connection, and FN + Space for the wired connection. This one keyboard can jump between five different devices with just a matter of a key press. Onto some of the downsides of this keyboard... Maybe theyre not as expensive as they used to be, but I wouldve included PBT+POM double-shot keycaps. The POM material offers translucency to illuminate the legend, making the RGB backlighting more useful. The included keycaps are opaque, so you wont be able to see the legends in the dark. Not a huge deal because its easy to buy a set and put them on. I set the backlighting to yellow to complement the scheme of the keycaps. The manufacturer provides software that can be used to fully customize the backlighting, and you can find that on their website. The software looked half-baked and I found it to be pretty sketchy so I uninstalled it. The right-click menu in your taskbar presented options in Chinese. I wish they provided a more mainstream solution for programming the backlighting besides their own proprietary software. About pricing... At the time of writing this review, the price of this keyboard was $89.99 (depending on the color you choose). For the features this keyboard offers, I think thats a good price. Thats less than Ive paid for all of my Vortex keyboards and none of them have wireless connectivity or hotswap switches. They have value in other ways, but Im still really impressed with the offering here. I did find another keyboard that looks very similar for a lower price. The Newmen GM1000 (ASIN B0BPH9Z8YM) is another backlit, hotswappable, 96% keyboard with an identical layout. I cant speak to the build quality of that board.

The Boyi TK96 is an excellent compact wired/wireless RGB keyboard, in fact is so good that there are barely any negatives to speak of about this one. Naturally, there are a lot of positives to list about this model and as I mentioned a very few negatives, but before that a few quick words about the packing and presentation. I currently have a lot of different mechanical keyboards, but is my first from Boyi and I am impressed by the retail packaging and contents, this model comes in a box that doesnt outline all the key features and important specifications nor does it have any images of the product inside, but it looks and feels very premium. Inside the box, there is the keyboard, a small user manual in English, metal keycaps removal tool, keys removal tool, extra keys in case you need to replace some, and USB-A to USB-C braided cable that is also housing the USB wireless receiver. Positives: - Compact, portable and easy to carry - The small footprint 100 keys size is great, especially if you are working on a smaller desk or if you are planning on traveling with it, it is perfect. - Functionality - the keyboard can be used wired and wireless with a 2.4G wireless receiver, with Bluetooth connection, and wired as well, it can be connected to any computer that has an available USB port or it has Bluetooth connectivity. Personally I prefer using it wired as the latency is great while gaming and I dont need to worry about the battery life. Speaking of battery life, the built-in battery is rated at 3500mah and it can last a long time, even over a month, depending on the usage. - RGB backlight across the whole keyboard keys - There are a lot of different RGB backlight modes that you can cycle from, you can also increase and decrease the speed and the light intensity, and if you are a fan of single color backlights, there is an option for that too, for those that dont like RGB or any light, it can be completely switched off as well. - Detachable, soft USB cable - the included cable is a high quality one, soft and long enough, its length is about 5 feet, but because its detachable, you can always pick up a longer one and replace it. Being soft is great, as you can rout easily around your desk and worry about knocking small objects over or creating resistance. - Inexpensive - for the functionality and options offered, the price tag of under $100 is great, very competitively priced. - Good sticky rubber feet on the bottom, unfortunately the rear ones are not able to be raised up from the desk, but those included rubber feet are preventing the keyboard from sliding on your desk surface. - Physical switch on the bottom corner to turn off and on the wireless mode. - Yellow key switches - This is the first time I have tried a keyboard with yellow ones, but I have to say that they are pretty close to red switches which are my favorite kind of mechanical switches, they are very close to be as silent or responsive as the red ones and provide enough tactile feedback. - Good quality ABS plastic key caps in several colors. - Four different color combinations and bases - Mars Green, Matcha, Marshmallow, Botanical Gardens. Negatives: - The provided cable is a bit short, but that is more nitpicking than actual negative. - A little on the expensive side, but the keyboard is high quality, so it is kind of understandable. - No braided USB cable, and the USB connector is on the left top side of the keyboard and not being able to be routed on both sides or center, but at least it is detachable and can be replaced. Overall, I love this keyboard, It has plenty of functionality, good backlight option and comfort.
