Brady BMP71 Label Printer with Quick Charger and USB Connectivity (BMP71)

Do NOT buy this printer! We use a lot of them at work and they’re a giant, steaming pile of garbage. Constant error messages about “no ribbon”, “error while printing” etc. Even after replacing the ribbon cartridge, which wasn’t even empty. Extremely frustrating. Zero stars.

Love this printer as Im able to take care of labeling needs throughout my business. Perfect for safety and electrical applications. Weve used it for small equipment labels and then for wire wraps. Bought it as we expected our corporate auditors any day. Perfect fit, and SO easy to use...highly recommend.

Super fast printing, lithium ion battery, easy loading and the best is a typewriter style keyboard. Far better than the abcdefg—— style printers

I love the amount of different labels this printer can print but I am having difficult printing without white specks on my prints. I am told it may be dust on the print head and/or roller. I have cleaned it and ran the cleaning card through it with no luck, still speckled. Anyone else have this problem? I cannot seem to get rid of those darn specks. I really like everything that this printer can do I just wish it was a bit better quality on the print out.

UPDATE: After leaving the review below, I was contacted by Brady and they ended up completely replacing my printer and the labels that were damaged by the defective printer. Ive yet to use the new printer, but their customer service came through after all! Beware of Bradys very limited warranty. We rarely use our printer, but when we do, it should work. We had a problem with the ribbon wrinkling (the first time we used it), so they were nice enough to send us a replacement ribbon. They said if the new ribbon didnt fix the problem, it was probably the machine and it would need to be replaced. They NEVER said we needed to do this within the first 30 days. Here I am 2 months later (the second time I am using the printer), and the new ribbon did not solve the problem. Now, Brady will not replace the machine, but I can send it in for repairs, which takes 7 days. They will not send me a new machine. THIS IS NOT HELPFUL. I have orders that need to go out and cant without these labels, This machine is almost $1000, so the 30 day defective replacement warranty SUCKS. So beware, if it breaks, you may just be SOL... and $1000.

Very diverse machine. Prints just about every type of label. This machine is a HUGE time saver. It has paid for itself several times over in man hours.

The software is difficult to navigate, leaving me to doubt they actually had a user test it outside of the programming group. God help you if you run out of labels or ribbon during a job, because you have to unplug EVERYTHING to get the unit to work properly when you resume the job. Otherwise the printer prints random labels and ignores your best efforts to restart where you were. Speaking of ribbon and labels, they unit is tremendously wasteful with ribbon. The system will fail to detect new ribbon or labels often enough to make you throw away full rolls that it will insist are empty. Utter garbage.

I have used this labeler for YEARS, and it has been very faithful...so much, that I bought a second one . Its easy to use & super easy to swap out empty label or printer cartridges...I Love It!
