> 3 dayNot as good as I remember it, but there were still good scenes and funny parts. I think it came across more as a play, and maybe it should have stayed on Broadway. I thought the acting was a little too theatrical and the characters were playing to a live audience. Its definitely a movie to watch again, but just not in the foreseeable future.

> 3 dayFilm was excellent. In our senior household we were both extremely disappointed that this version was not closed captioned which resulted in us missing some of the fast moving dialogue. In the future how can we determine if a film we are purchasing is CC before we purchase?

> 3 dayI love this movie. It is humorous and shows a much simpler time. Also I definitely see where Ferris Beuller may have taken some techniques from this movie such as the main charachter talking to the audience.

> 3 dayThis was our first viewing of the three Neil Simon Trilogies based on his life. My wife and I greatly enjoyed it. We watched it the first time in the privacy of our home without anyone else with us. When we took it to some lady friends home to share it with them, The 60 year old was offended by some of the subject matter, but overall enjoyed it we think, and the other friend in her who is 69 really enjoyed it and laughed most of the way through the movie. I gave it a four star instead of the five I really wanted to give it, because the movie does have some subject matter that is of human nature but yet offensive to some people. For that reason, I would not recommend it to be viewed by small children or youth.

> 3 daySuch a great movie...it is about a Jewish family in New York, in the late 1930s, and it is so poignant and heartwarming and funny....there are 2 teenaged sons coming of age so there is language and sexual references between the brothers, but because of the context, within the story, I did not find it offensive as I generally would... I had seen it years ago, and it was a delight to see it again...

Greater than one weekNeil Simon was very astute in his observations when writing this book. The experiences of a nieve young fellows army induction and training in the final months of WWII. I can readily relate to his sudden exposure to the real world and finding it necessary to grow up fast!. This movie is not really for mothers and grandmothers, but fathers and brothers should find it interesting.
