Greater than one weekBest one I’ve tried. Easy to use, great features. Light, easy to swap cartridges etc, child level skills, really nice look. Highly recommend, though shop about price wise.

> 3 dayThis is great if you really like labelling things and making present ribbons and name tapes for your childrens clothes. I do think you need to be a serious crafter or have a lot of children to make name tapes for to make this worthwhile. This is because to print the tapes you need to but cassettes (and yes they look very like the tape recorder cassettes of yore) that contain ribbon and ink for printing. The tapes seem to range in price from £6 to about £30 (for a 2 or 3 coloured tape pack). You can buy ribbon tape in a wide range of colours, transparent tape and iron on tape from the Brother website (and also from some other websites) so its not that cheap to produce your tapes but it does produce a wide range of results. It comes with one ribbon cassette to get you started. It takes 6AAA batteries (not supplied) but you can buy a plug in adapter for about £15 if you use the printer a lot. It is easy to use - you take the back off, slot in the cassette. replace the cover, select the font you want to use and off you go and you cut the ribbon when you have sufficient length. Its kind of fun but a bit too pricey (£39.99 atm) if you think you might only use it for clothing tapes and /or the odd personalised gift ribbon. It would be a good thing for a craft group or group of parents to have or someone who crafts and gifts a lot. It seems very retro in this day and age to have a handheld labeller. It is fun though except I found the qwerty keyboard a bit trying to use with my stubby fingers
