> 24 hourI love the finished product but getting there wasnt the easiest. This is the first felt stocking Ive done in decades so I was rusty. I had to rely on the instructions alone till some memory started coming back of what I did before. Thats the main problem with the kit...the instructions. They are printed on a large sheet of paper (19 x 25) on both sides, sections put where ever they fit so youll end up refolding a lot. The instructions are sparse, they dont give tips or do hand-holding, its easy to miss something or misunderstand. Kits I did previously were much more informative than this and remembering bits of earlier instructions helped here. The main omission with this kit is not telling you to baste down larger (especially) felt pieces before you applique. That will save hours/days of frustration, especially for the horns. (pinning doesnt work well with thick layers of felt) You will need to refer to the photo that comes with the stocking a lot, and at times youll need to puzzle things out. You get plenty of floss, beads, and sequins, but polyfill and a large embroidery needle arent included. (I scavenged filling from a cheap stuffed animal for this, you dont need much) The needles that are included werent very good so I used my own (Singer assortment), and you should get some needle threaders because youll be changing thread a lot. I also bought a pair of small detail scissors and strongly suggest you do too. They make ALL the difference because you usually end up having to cut out pieces on the wrong side of the line and precision cutting really matters here. Youre going to spend many hours putting this together, make it as easy for yourself as you can. This kit isnt beginner friendly, its best if you have some hand-sewing/felt stocking experience (and patience). But when you do complete it, its an impressive piece.

> 24 hourI love these ornaments, they are so cute, and while it can be a challenge to make these little guys, it is fun and relaxing. Try them, I think youd enjoy making them too.

> 24 hourThese come out adorable but are very labor intensive for such a tiny final product. All you need in in this kit and the directions are very good.

> 24 hourMy dog absconded with the candy corn ornament that I completed. I contacted the manufacturer to ask if they could email me a copy of the pieces (the printed diagrams are about 26% bigger than the appliqués.) Plaid Bucilla couldnt have been any LESS helpful. I ended up reducing the pictures on a copier and tracing the lost pieces onto felt that I bought. The entire ordeal was a complete and annoying hassle. Additionally, the felt provided is incredibly cheap, almost transparent in some areas. The last time I purchased a kit was in 1992, and I dont remember the components being so cheaply made. I found that using a light to mid weight fusible interfacing on the felt helped tremendously. My recommendation: dont waste your money. Find some printable appliqués and instructions on the web, or create your own.

> 24 hourI have made many Bucilla kits. They are always good quality and easily followed directions. This kit of snowflakes turned out very cute and I ordered a second kit to have enough snowflakes to fill my metal tree. Very pleased!
