He calls it Buckles and he loves the feeling of accomplishment when he gets one right. It would be nice if the buckles were a bit bigger, though.

What the hell is this? My nieces father had said when he opened one of many random packages I send his and my sisters home every now and again. At first glance it appeared to be a weird, small bondage pillow, but I knew what I was doing when I ordered it. In its first play session, my niece sat still and buckled for 30+ minutes. I later received commendations for being the best aunt ever. I searched for this toy because my niece was obsessed with buckling and unbuckling her baby brothers carseat straps. However, to do so, she had to lean over the seat awkwardly and lug it around the room (depending on where she wanted to play with it, of course). So, I googled buckling toy and this one caught my eye. Its small, captures an 18 month old toddlers attention and is an especially great toy for long car-rides. It seems to be rather high quality as after many days of hard play, there are no tears. Im sure that in time it will wear out, but dont we all? My only complaint about it is that the three prong buckle can pinch tiny fingers, but not hard enough to cause any real harm.

I love this buckle toy. Its not as big as I expected with it measuring in at 5.5 x 5.5 but that didnt bother me. As the picture shows, there are 6 sets of buckles, 4 of them having a side squeeze buckle, 1 with a round center release and 1 with a rectangular center release. The amazon description states 6 child-friendly buckles in a variety of clasp styles which is deceiving since 4 of the buckles that are the same style. The one with the rectangular center release was difficult for me to unbuckle and I had to use my fingernail to get it to release but my son had no problem getting it once I showed him how. The back of Boomer has 5 different shapes: Arrow, diamond, Heart, Square & Star. Each of the shapes are numbered so in addition to teaching your little one to buckle and unbuckle, it can also help them with shape identification and counting. There is also a side zipper pocket to assist with learning to zipper. The negative of this is that once unzipped, the pocket lining can be pulled out. After pushing it back in, the zipper can sometimes get caught on the lining if not properly pushed in. Ive had to help my son several times with it. My son is 3.5 so he is on the tail end of the age bracket but I got it for him anyway since he has recently taken an interest to buckles. As I mentioned, 1 of the buckles is a more difficult than the others so it took him a little bit to get it after showing him how to do it. He still reaches for it to do a round of buckling and I also realized that I could teach him how to do a lattice by intertwining the buckles but that may take a while for him to get the concept of. Overall, this is a pretty decent learning toy and I would recommend it. I bought this for my 8 month old grandson. He is teething and puts everything in his mouth, he absolutely loves this toy, so much I’m going to buy another one.

My 4 year old grandson has busy hands and is mischievous. This toy has helped him considerably. It has calmed him and helped him to develop his dexterity.

Bought this for my son so he can practice his buckling and colors. HE LOVES IT! Keeps him pretty occupied for a good amount of time. Threes shapes on the backside which is fun to interact with too.

Was so pleased to find this after I realized how much my son loves trying to buckle his highchair, his car seat, etc. Bought it at 13 months old, and now at 16 months old, hes a pro. Def recommend!

My grandson loves the sparkle pill. It keeps him occupied for quite a while and he is so proud of himself when he does it I would recommend it
