08-06-2025Very happy with the Canon Pixma line of printers. Have used many brands over the years and this is a strong choice. Installation is easy and it prints beautifully. Mostly documents but the occasional graphic looks great.

> 3 dayI, like some others stated, got this little guy from Walmart for under thirty last month. I was expecting little for such a price but definitely got more than I paid for! 1. This printer is fast. Speedy for an entry level printer. 2. I am printing a lot of screens from a game, so full color. I had to play with the settings quite a lot to get the look I wanted. I love the Vivid Photo setting. Really makes the colors pop. 3. I have learned paper really makes the print job, so I am using some GREAT Matte Photo Paper by Printworks. (Available here on Amazon.) Make sure to set the paper to High Resolution in the settings! 4. Some one mentioned in their review that they could not print from the last page. That setting is available, under Page Setup in the settings. 5. It looks good! (But the black coating picks up prints much too well for my liking.) Cons: I think Canon should be ashamed of the racket on ink that they have going. At the rate I print, I would be using two carts a month of color. Nearly fifty a month, more than the printer cost!! After much research, I found Hobbicolors ink on Ebay. WOW! That ink is BETTER than the OEM ink. I tried some ink from Amazon, but it was not as good, watered down. I have refilled twice now and no problems with Hobbicolors. I am just staring at my prints in awe. It is a little noisy, but you can turn on quiet mode in the printer settings. It prints a little slower, but I am not in all that much of a hurry. I am just a hobbyist, not a graphic designer or anything, so I can definitely recommend this printer for the everyday user.

> 3 dayPrint quality is decent, but relatively slow and loud. My complaint is the feed mechanism. It sucks. It started by giving errors for no paper with a full paper tray, then started feeding paper crooked. If I want to print a page, itll take 10-12 tries to eventually get it right. Just terrible. Buy something else. Wish I had.

> 3 dayMine worked for a while . . . but now the photo stock wont feed at all, and the only message I get is Paper out! Load paper and press resume button. Even though there are 20 sheets of photo stock in the hopper. Update: I adjusted the number of sheets in the hopper and got it to work. Not sure what the optimum number of sheets is - perhaps close to full (1/2 inch space)?

> 3 dayIve had this for a bit over four months ands use it infrequently. I had expected it to dry up between uses - it doesnt. It prints every time and prints well. If it were lost, Id buy another. Less than five stars because it is slow.

> 3 dayThe Canon ip2600 is slow and the prints are quite mediocre, but its cheap, so what? Well, next time I would spend a few more dollars and have a much better machine. Dont believe the

> 3 dayFor the price, its worth it. Pros: - Decent quality. - Price: I bought mine from Wal-mart for $29.95. Cons: - NO paper tray. Which means that once it is done printing each page, that page will fall to the floor. - Ink. I spend $35 per set (1 color, 1 black cartridge). They dont last long. I had a 250 page report to print out (no color, all black and white text) I put in brand new cartridges before and did not get through the entire thing. So it took me 2 of each to do 250 pages. I know other brands like HP you can get more out of for less money. Do the research before you buy. Look at the cost of the printer AND the cost of the ink. If the manufacturer does not tell you how many pages each cartridge will print; keep looking.

> 3 dayIve only used it for print so far, and the quality is excellent. No mechanical problems. I would like the option to print from back to front (spend 30 minutes looking for the feature last night to no avail) because documents come out face up so you have to re-organize documents that print out.

Greater than one weekGreat little printer for the money, but the cartridges do not last very long. They offer larger cartridges, but theyre pretty expensive too. When I went back to the store to get more ink cartridges, I realized that buying a new printer (which comes with cartridges and a small pack of photo paper) was about $4 less than buying the replacement cartridges. I felt a little guilty since its such a waste of resources (environmentally speaking), but thats Canons stupid fault for pricing things the way they have. Do they really think were not going to notice that the replacement ink cartridges cost more than we paid for the printer? Corporate America doing what it does best...wasting money. Had the two cartridges cost $25, I would have saved myself five bucks and gone on with my life. So I reluctantly bought another printer for $30 instead of paying $34 for the two little replacement cartridges. How could I not? That said, Im not the type to keep buying printers and putting them in closet or throwing them in the dumpster, so Ill be looking for an alternative soon, preferably from another company...but for the meanwhile, this one does the job just fine. Its just the principle that puts me off. Everything about the printer is great...looks awesome sitting next to my iMac too.
