I was hoping to use this for both advanced and basic use for several in the household, but it is not intuitive for basic use. Need to spend some time with the manual if youre not already used to a calculator like this. Great for more advanced user though.

When I teach lower level math or science classes, I often recommend to my students that they buy a Casio, usually the fx-300 series because they are much more intuitive that the TI series, deal well with fractions (which are often difficult for students) and the natural display ( what you are entering LOOKS like what is in your text or your problem) is more intuitive for them. Dealing with natural logs e, and powers of ten are also more straightforward on a Casio. Plus, they are cheap. This calculator would be a natural progression for use in the next level of classes, as it adds the functions needed for more advanced algebra and graphing. I had no trouble figuring it out, but I have spent many hours messing with calculators (I think I know where the ln and log button are on at least 15 different kinds). This Casio IS more intuitive than at TI. If you are used to a TI you will figure this one out, if you have never used a graphing calculator, the Casio is simpler to manage. However, for more advanced classes , many professors/teachers are only familiar with the TI series and if you show up with a Casio, you are on your own as far as figuring out how to use it. It is not that the TI is better, but it has a larger market share in upper level classes (college algebra, calculus, physics...) so teachers are used to it. The computer connection leaves something to be desired. It ran ok on my 32 bit machine, but I ended up spending two hours trying to download the 64 bit from Casio (it is available at edu.casio.com) and failing. You have to create an account and then website is confusing and full of the sort of English that is almost right, but not quite with instructions that leave you wondering how a company that makes such great calculators can have such a clunky website. The 32bit interface looks like something designed 15 years ago, with little updating. The computer connection is really just not operating at the level it should be. This calculator still has the problem (also common with TIs) that it will happily graph a function such as (x-2)/((x-2)(x+2)) without in any way noting that there is a hole in the graph at x=2. I am not sure what graphing calculators can do about this, as the screen resolution is not that great, but some sort of warning would be useful. I am not taking any stars off for this, as I have not yet found one that is explicit about warning students about this issue. I like that it uses regular AAA batteries, rather than button cell. The buttons do have a cheaper feel than on the Tis, but I have been using some Casios for 15 years with no problems with the buttons. So, in a nutshell, this calculator will do everything you need it to do for class, but most teachers will be less familiar with it than the TI. It is a very good value for the money and more intuitive to use than a TI. If you are willing to puzzle it out yourself, this is a good deal. If you are going to need your teacher to step you through how to use it, make sure he/she is familiar with Casio calculators.

these calculators are fantastic, TI has there foot in the door with all the schools, and although they also make a great calculator too, these are slightly better and should also be a part of the schools curriculum and taught right along side of TIs.

Compré la calculadora en el 2016, y hasta la fecha aún no le cambio las baterías. Excelente para ingeniería, en mi caso fue ingenieria química. Excelente calidad y versatilidad, después de 4 años, sigue como nueva!

as it is written and title, delivery is fast and arrived at the time told. Calculator itself is famous enough, so I feel no need of another mentioning
