Greater than one weekI was so impressed by my first G-Shock, a DW-5600, that I upgraded to this the G-56001UE, which is by and large the solar version of the DW-5600 with more alarms and world time. The watch arrived quickly to Australia, in perfect condition and works exactly as described. I havent yet taken this deep in the ocean, only some pool swimming to about 1.8 metres deep. I do wish Casio would include the auto-repeat countdown timer which is what my DW-5600 has, thats my only bug bear, but I knew that before I ordered the watch. Incidentally, to replace the battery and pressure test my DW-5600 it was going to cost AUD117 ($117 Australian dollars), so I figured Im better off spending a bit more and buying the solar powered version. The jeweller told me it takes an hour, which is why its so expensive to replace the battery and pressure test the watch. So to readers considering saving money by buying a non-solar G-Shock, check how much it will cost to replace and pressure test the battery. When I lived in New Zealand it was only NZD40 to replace the battery and pressure test the DW-5600.

15-11-2024Bought my first G-Shock square back in 1988 when I joined the military. Went halfway round the world with me, went through immeasurable hardship, and made it home. I gave it to some boot who needed one, having moved on to a more full-featured watch. Now Ive bought this one; its got all of the updated functions that the 5610 does, just minus the Multi-Band 6, and it has the more neutral white pinstripe on the face rather than the red (which I prefer). Youd have to look closely to see that its not the super-basic DW-5600E, but it still has all the features. Great watch; I added Jays and Kays strap adaptors, and wear it on a NATO. The only downside is that the alarm/timer beeper is very quiet. I sometimes miss the alarms. If alarm volume is important to you, the GW-6900-1 is the way to go; its much more audible.

> 3 dayWork as expected. All that need for daily and trips - no unneeded functionality. Solar battery - minimum ten years without problems. One point - note timer doesnt have auto-repeat functionality. My watch lost nearly 11 sec in a month - its expected (+/- 15 sec/month by documentation) but wanted less :-).

Greater than one weekArrived well ahead of schedule. Packed well, came with original tin box and paperwork. Super light, not too bulky. Solar option, so no battery replacement is a major plus. LED light for illuminating screen. Shock resistant so it can take a hit. Will serve as my new daily

> 3 dayNever thought I’d ever replace my DW5600, but this one is just better in all ways, but mostly in these areas: 1. Better size (for small wrists) as it’s slightly smaller 2. 5 alarms - contrary to what’s said in forums, the alarm is actually loud

> 3 dayThe watch is almost perfect but the countdown isnt auto repeat. I used auto repeat count down on my old 5600E (Module 1545) to start and stop several training routine each 15 minutes or to have medicine each 8 hours. The led light dont bright at the sound alarm neither on sig alarm or countdowm alarm. The manual come only in Japan language and dont have international guarrantie card, only in Japan according to vendor. The others function are sufficient and all ok.

Greater than one weekAnda excelente, se siente muy bien en la mano. Se retraso solo con un segundo en 2 semanas. Un poco chiquito por mi gusto, pero igual me encanta mucho

15-11-2024A true classic G-Shock that should be in everyone’s collection. Indestructible and don’t have to worry about changing the battery since it solar, plus has atomic time keeping.
