> 24 hourIts never stated in the description, so I didnt realize that you have to remove all of the insulation that Creality wraps around their heater blocks in order for these socks to fit as intended. Im not sure Ill be doing that to my CR10 and Ender-3, so Ill keep this set of CCTREE socks I just bought in the drawer until I decide whether or not its worth it. A custom sock covers all but the very tip of the nozzle so curling filament wont stick and melt to it. Thats the main benefit for me - that and the minor heat stability improvement the covering provides. Considering the Creality hot-end is already insulated and considering that this sock leaves the nozzle completely uncovered, there really doesnt appear to be much benefit after all.

> 24 hourMarlin firmware has safety features that detect thermal runaway, but if your print cooling fan hits your heater block, it can cause a spurious trip (PID tuning is another part of fixing this problem)... the block cover helps with this issue, as well as keeping the thermister bead and heater cartridge better captured in the block (although no substitute for a solid connection!)
