I am a computer pro, I own maybe a dozen USB flash drives. I have had occasional problems with drives, but never had a piece of junk like the Centon. It accepted a large file, but I was unable to read it. I tried to format the thing - no luck. I contacted what Centon laughingly calls their support service and just ran into road blocks. I know how to care for USB flash memory, so I know it was not my fault. This company makes cheap junk, avoid them at all costs!

Ive had one of these 4 gig Centons for a few years now, and Im honestly confused by the wildly different experience between me and apparently everyone else thats used one. Ive never had problems putting files on or getting them off. Ive used it in numerous devices without trouble. I dont think its ever lost a file. More than that, the things more durable than a Swiss-engineered watch. Mines been dropped, stepped on, even went through a bout in the washing machine once. That one, I thought it was dead for sure. But I blew some air through it, let it dry, plugged it in, and it worked just as well as ever. I even backed up the files off of it just to make sure (Id taken to keeping certain must have files on it all the time), expecting it to die any minute. That was early last summer, and its worked as well as ever. Today I thought it had finally bit the big one. I was trying to rearrange my floor mat and knocked over my computer chair. The back struck the datastick where it was sticking out of the front of the computer and I thought it had been bent in two on first glance. Actually, all that had happened was the glue inside holding the board and plug in had come loose, making the case slide off it. It never even lost connection with my computer, let alone lost function. A little glue around the edge of where the plug fits into the case, and despite a now noticeable but subtle curve to its structure, its still good to go. I am now rather worried that Ive pushed it to the limits of its durability, so I came to look up Centon memory sticks. I was shocked at how some of them had one-star ratings, including this one with a bunch of them. Either I have a slightly different model number that was made as durable as everyone elses was made crap, or... well, I dunno or what else, its weird. Hell, Im almost afraid to use anything else for fear one day it will fall out of my pocket, hit a carpeted floor, and become useless, like one of the other memory sticks I used to use.

This was priced wonderfully, shipped accordingly and on time, and it fit my needs. It was wonderful to shop for a product I needed without leaving the house to do so.

I have been using this flash drive for about a year now, and I use it A LOT to transfer and backup files, on a daily basis. Yes, I have lost all files a couple of times and had to reformat the drive. But that happens so rarely compared to how often it does work that I think its almost insignificant. However, after a year of extensive use the USB connectors have worn out (I guess), and it takes some wiggling around for it to be recognized by the computer. Another note: I really like the small size of it, and its pretty sturdy. I also have a TwinMOS Mobile Disk III (the cap and the lock switch broke in no time) and one from ScanDisc (the cracking sound it makes when you push out the USB connector is annoying), but the Centon is simply much sleeker and less annyoing.

This USB is perfect for me. Its nice and small and works like a charm. Best of all, I didnt spend an arm and leg on it!

I bought this because it was a great price for the amount of drive space. I loaded it with, among other things, financial files such as Quicken backup files and a spreadsheet of credit card payments. It worked fine for a few weeks. Then last week in the middle of reconciling my Quicken file I got an error message that the drive could not be read. It took several minutes to recover the info. Today it happened again with a spreadsheet. If you want to save a few bucks in the short term, buy one of these. But it looks like Ill be shopping for another flash drive.

I have one of these. I used it once and it worked. Id only use it to transfer pics or docs that were already backed up on something else. Look if you cant get this in 2014 for under $5.00 dont get it!
